It was a busy night to start with, my wife and I recognized this. That was kinda weird for a Tuesday. We waited about 20-30 mins for table. Not bad. Once we were seated it took a few minutes for our waitress to come see us. She quickly runs by and says I’ll be right back for your drink order. We wait a little while longer. She takes our drink order while I ask for the drink menu. She bring all that back but leaves too fast to order anything else or even ask for a straw. The hostess see us with menus still and ask if we have ordered yet. We say no and she then proceeds with our order. We have been seated for 20 mins at this point. We also find out that the street tacos cannot be mixed and matched. 9 different options but you can only get 1 type of 3 tacos. She gets our order in and it’s another 15-20 mins before we see our waitress again. We end up eating 3 baskets of chips and getting full on that. I had also ordered my margarita and I had to ask her about after waiting some time to receive it. Other tables were getting their beverages before me. The booth behind us says to the waitress that they have filled up on chips and want to cancel their food order. We realize we have been sitting at the table for an hour and felt the same way. So we asked our waitress to cancel as well. While she was gone the food did come and we refused it because we had canceled. Just when I thought the drama was over the manager comes by and stares at me for a moment. He did not introduce himself nor did our waitress. He proceeds to make excuses about being busy and in some ways making us feel like we should be more understanding. I get that your busy but I also am full on chips and I have other things I want to do. I can’t just sit around hoping to eventually get our food. The manger was very argumentative and did not want to listen to our experience. We still left the waitress a tip and paid for our drinks. This was a disappointing experience. My wife and I were trying to celebrate Christmas on date night and it just felt like a waste of time to come to a place that seemed they didn’t care about us being there. I do...
Read moreWe were thrilled to discover a really good local Mexican food restaurant in Sapulpa. We often took visiting family, groups, and house guests there. We were even more excited to have a great local breakfast taco source. We like to support our local businesses. Then, one weekend our taco order was short by 2, which we just shrugged off. Until the next weekend when all 8 tacos had egg shells in them – some as big as a nickel. Since stuff happens, I went to discuss the problem with the owner. He acted as if he did not believe me (I took a piece of the egg shell to show him): he questioned my motives, timing, and truthfulness, and was generally reluctant to treat the situation as if it mattered. He eventually reluctantly offered to remake the 10 tacos (2 that were shorted and 8 that had shells), and we scheduled that for the following weekend. Then he called and insisted on being there when that happened; I agreed to call beforehand. I called 3 times the night before. Staff answered once. The owner was not in on that Friday night, but staff said he would get the message. Maybe he did, but he did not show up the next morning. We showed up, but left empty-handed. Sometimes the way you treat customers matters. From now on, instead of driving 8 minutes to Senor Pablo’s, we’ll drive 15 minutes to Torchy’s for breakfast tacos and to Chuy’s or Chimi’s or Los Cabos for Mexican food. We’re disappointed, but it’s not the only source for good Mexican food, just a slightly...
Read moreI really wanted to give this restaurant 5 stars. It's a good location, lots of seating, love the decor. It's cozy inside but can get quite loud. We were greeted and promptly seated in a booth. The house salsa is quite flavorful and mild enough for my grandma to eat, and she's sensitive to spicy food. I tried the roasted salsa also which was my personal favorite. They also have a very spicy green salsa that was pretty good, it tasted like honey which was sort of different. The chips were burned and there were a lot of broken pieces. Our waitress was extremely nice and polite but did not check on us often enough leaving empty drink glasses and salsa bowls. Those are some of my only complaints, the food was amazing! It is a mixture of traditional and Tex-Mex. The portions are huge and prices are fair. Tortillas are soft and delicious, all the meat was flavored nicely and seasoned, nothing was too salty. I had the habanero cream chicken enchiladas and l was a little disappointed because I did not taste the heat and the cream sauce was a bit bland. I'll order something else next time. My boyfriend's enchiladas were delicious, I definitely sampled them and the meats and cheese sauce were perfect. The guacamole is YUM. I'm looking forward to...
