We used to dine here quite regularly, but this experience has make us change our schedules!! We made a reservation for 6PM.. it was jammed with people...the two idiots at the podium could not find our reservation??? WHAT??? it was made directly thru Bonefish site!! there is something wrong with that!?? After 30 minutes they found a table for 4 that we had requested and it took 10 minutes to get a server at the table (it seemed to be his first experience as being a waiteralso!?)..took our drink orders on a tablet devide and had to ask twice what it was that we wanted to drink..(I ordered an old fashion that said it came with a big Ice Ball, which I did not want!! when it came there was about one inch of drink in the bottom of the glass !! just because I didnt want a giant ball of ice in my drink..what a ripoff at $13.!) He had to ask my husband again what he had ordered as it didn't quite compute!.. He went away for quite a long time before returning to take our order....after another 30-40 minutes we asked him to call the manager as tables were emptying and we had not received our 4 meals !! He said he would check on it!! Another 15-20 minutes and they did arrive....AND HOW DISAPPOINTING!! We have never seen meals at a good restaurant where the main portions were incredibly tiny and the veggies were very disappointing !! I had the MahiMahi & Shrimp...the shrimp were overcooked and hard, the Mahi was a solid lump that was inedible, and the green beans there were ordered turned into limp overcooked broccoli!!
My husbands ChimiChurri Steak was the size of a small flat hamburger and very thin!! and not very Chimi tasting!?? We have had far better and cheaper in Cuban restaurants!
Our sister's Filet Mignon was also the size of a flat small hamburger, disappointing for a Filet!!?? and the Crispy Roasted potatoes were squarish lumps of potato right out of a freezer bag and heated! WHAT???? Not what we were envisioning by the description on the menu??
Her husbands Pork Chop was cut from the smallest pig ever!! and the only thing he really liked were what looked like terrribly burnt Brussel Sprouts in a glaze!
We told the waiter, when he FINALLY came around and asked how we were doing, that we needed to speak to the Manager once again...we totally trashed this meal!! my Mahi was inedible and the other meals were very very disappointing for the prices!!! The Steaks and Pork were the worst! And we had been there for almost 3 hours!! Now maybe they had run out of food with the huge crowds that were there??? Who knows what happened
After looking at our weird & and flat steaks and dishelved meals he totally agreed and said we only had to pay for our drinks! That was a surprise! But we were grateful that we didn't have to pay for Poor Service and Worse Dinners!!
Will wait to hear better reviews of this Group Restaurant! Have had bad dinners also at the Outback part of this group?? What is...
Read moreThis was our first time here. We waited for 10 minutes to actually be greeted. They were not busy. The server actually stopped by four minutes after we sat down to say oh I didn’t see you there. I’ll be right back. Then proceeded to have a long conversation with her table that had already paid. She was checking out their phones and pictures and talking about Sarasota and Bradenton. So finally, after we had sat down 10 minutes later, we were greeted. We were never told her name or even ask if we had ever been there before. We ordered drinks. When she came back, we went ahead and ordered, especially not knowing how long it would be before she returned to our table. During our ordering, my husband was asked about what sauce he wanted. We asked her what sauce this is our first time here. Then she pointed out on the menu what sauce. So after she came to our table and we ordered everyone else delivered our food and drinks. My husband ordered the mahi and shrimp, which both were over cooked and dry. The bang bang shrimp were much better at the Van Wezel. The shrimp tacos were good. And the crabcakes were very good, moist and full of crab. The side portions were extremely small, especially compared to other establishments. Then came time to pay ,which we pay with cash. The comment was oh cash. Servers are supposed to keep cash in their books to make change for customers. I too serve. Apparently she was either new to this or no one does this here. The server was talkative, but really condescending. Talking about the demographics here, no offense. My husband was born and raised here, and I’m from Florida as well. You never know who you are waiting on, so never judge a book by its cover. The atmosphere here is very dull. The lighting is terrible. The place just seems dead. We will not be returning here. We may try the establishment in Bradenton. But as far as food, the kitchen needs better help or better management. The food was SO much better at the Van Wezel. I will...
Read moreAfter I had an amazing experience in Orlando, now in Sarasota I said: "let's go to bonefish grill again, the menu are the same and I really want that salmon caprese one more time before going back home!". So we did, but it took few minutes to get a table as the receptionist was on the phone and when she finished the call she was still busy doing something else. Even though we felt a bit ignored, we didn't bother too much as we knew the quality of the food. Unfortunately it took a while again to have a waiter, then we ordered drinks. To get a bottle of wine and some water (6 guests) it took at least 10 minutes, maybe 15 (not joking), and by that time we were more than ready to take the orders. So I finally asked for my Salmon Caprese, and guess what? They couldn't make it as they run out some of the ingredients. After that long wait to get served, I had to change my plans and choose something different. Just to be sure, as my disappointment was clear as the sun, the waiter went to check if there was a chance to make it anyway, and he disappeared for another 5 minutes. He finally came back with a negative answer and I went for the Atlantic salmon with a mango sauce. No surprise, the food was outstanding again. My salmon with that mango sauce was delicious while we were still having food (though some of us had already finished) the waiter came with the ice bucket for the wine (it was basically over by that time) and the bill. We felt like we should hurry up to finish our food so we didn't even thought about having a dessert, even though he asked if we wanted it. We just paid and left.
For any reader that get this far: as I said food was absolutely delicious, but we felt a bit unpleased by the customer service displayed by the staff in general (they literally throw us the cutlery and I've already spent several words about the rest of the service). I still highly recommend the place, as food is simply superb, but I have to say that Orlando does...
