I’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant since its opening at university park, bringing friends, family, and coworkers to enjoy what used to be my favorite breakfast spot. However, today’s experience left me extremely disappointed.
We originally had a table for four, but when a friend decided to join us, we politely asked the waiter if we could accommodate them. The waiter brought us an extra chair, and everything seemed fine—until a woman working at the front desk (who had short hair) abruptly approached us. Without any courtesy, she informed us that having an extra chair violated their fire code and insisted that we only booked a table for 4.
While we absolutely understand the importance of following safety regulations, what frustrated us was her unnecessary rudeness. We then noticed that the restaurant had squeezed in a two-person table between ours and the one next to us, which is what actually made the extra chair a fire code issue. Had this been explained calmly and kindly, we would have had no problem adjusting. Instead, her tone was harsh, dismissive, and completely unprofessional.
It’s disappointing to see a place I once loved treat customers this way. Good food should be paired with good service, and unfortunately, today’s experience made me reconsider...

I joined the waitlist online before we left the house and by the time we got there about 20 minutes later, we were next in line and got seated right away. Our server, whose name I didn’t catch, was really kind and took great care of us. Drinks came out quickly, food followed shortly after, and the whole visit took about 30 minutes. That’s a huge win when you’re dining with a toddler, since taking young kids to restaurants can go either way. This time it was smooth from start to finish.
What really made the visit special was that someone paid for our breakfast. It was incredibly generous and honestly helped restore a bit of my faith in humanity. Since I don’t usually carry cash and still wanted to leave a tip, I decided to buy one of the little cinnamon rolls for my son and add the tip to that purchase. But the waitress ended up giving it to us for free. That small gesture meant a lot and we’ll make sure to tip double next time.
Always a good atmosphere, great food, and quick service....
Read moreI recently visited The Breakfast Company, and I have to say, it’s become one of my go-to spots for breakfast. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting vibe—sunlight streaming through the windows and a cozy, laid-back atmosphere that just made me feel at home. The menu is packed with all the breakfast classics you could ask for, plus a few creative twists that made it hard to choose just one dish.
I decided to go with their "Sunny Side Scramble," and wow, it did not disappoint. The eggs were perfectly scrambled, packed with fresh veggies and just the right amount of cheese that melted into every bite. The hash browns on the side? Absolute perfection—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, exactly how they should be. I paired everything with a freshly brewed cup of coffee, which complemented the meal perfectly.
The service was friendly, though a bit slow at times—nothing too crazy, but definitely something to note if you're in a rush. All in all, The Breakfast Company is a solid choice for anyone craving a delicious, hearty breakfast in a chill, welcoming spot. I’ll...
