Elixir Tea House — Restaurant in Sarasota

I cannot believe how disappointed I was in the Elixir Tea House. It was supposed to be a unique experience for me and my friends. I made a reservation three weeks in advance for a group of ladies who wanted to have the special experience of having lunch at the tea house. Each week I confirmed my reservation. On the day that everyone arrived I was told we couldn’t be seated together. So we made the best of the seating arrangement. Not a good start to our experience. We sat waiting for the waitress to take our order. Finally, she came to our tables but we discovered that many items on the menu were not actually available. After another long wait, our food and drinks continued to be delayed beyond any decent expectation. Some ladies received their beverages but no food. Others received their food without their beverage. Several ladies sat waiting for almost two hours for their orders. This meant some were served and finished eating before others even got their food. Several orders were forgotten altogether. To make things worse, the AC was not working properly so the venue was very warm inside. We were using our menus to fan ourselves. The atmosphere was also disappointing. It wasn’t elegant or special as expected. The decor was not at all at the level of a traditional tea house experience. I would not recommend this...

I'm going to try my hardest to do this review justice, because I can not stress enough how above and beyond The Elixir and staff went to host our private event. We decided to have our small wedding reception of 20 people at The Elixir and opted to have "High Tea" for our guests. The entire place was decorated with each table having the most breathtakingly beautiful spread of delicious home-made light fare and pastries. Each table was elegantly set with flowers and tiered plates on gorgeous tablecloths and runners. We had more champagne than we could all drink, and it was good quality champagne! The tea is absolutely fabulous and they quickly brought more to each table as needed. Everything was completely set up for us prior to our arrival and they provided to-go containers for everyone to take home any leftovers. All of this, served with the most genuinely welcoming staff. I can't say enough good things about this place and the staff. They went absolutely above and beyond any expectations we had. Please support this fabulous business! We will absolutely be coming back for any future events. Thank you so much to The Elixir and their amazing staff for making our wedding...

I recently visited this tea house with my mom and sister, and it was such a lovely experience. Their specialty is tea, and I ordered a hot mango fruit tea—absolutely delicious! The teapot serves about two cups, perfect for a cozy moment. I paired it with a slice of German chocolate cake, which was rich and amazing.

We were seated in one of their charming tea rooms, and my mom and sister tried their bobba drinks—for pastries key lime, super refreshing, and the other came with a beautifully layered cake that wasn’t overly sweet.

The place itself is magical. We explored some of the other themed rooms, and the Alice in Wonderland room was incredible! It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a good chat or some juicy gossip, celebrate a small event with close friends, or simply relax with tea, sweet treats, and even a glass of wine.

We truly loved it and felt so comfortable. I’m already planning to come back—this time with my girlfriends! Oh, amazing hosts!...
