Well we wanted to like this place. Went for dinner. Sat outside very cute place. Nice atmosphere wasn't too busy walked in and got seated. Maybe 3 tables of people including us outside. I will continue with the good since it's quick. We ordered drinks and water and some apps. Apps were decent presentation was nice could have used some more salt but was happy with the avocado egg rolls and arancini. Well that is where the good part ends. We put in our dinner order. Burger, chicken parm sandwich and the orange chicken. The service was terrible we never saw our waitress again. We had to flag down the hostess and ask for water twice. We finally got our server and asked for water and another round of drinks. She said sure then never returned. Our food came and was meh at best. The chicken parm looked like a frozen Tyson chicken puck with very little flavor the tomato sauce had zero flavor. Didn't even know it was there. The burger had zero seasoning as well and wife is lactose intolerant so we asked for no cheese. Well came with cheese and took so long I just scraped it off for her. . Our son enjoyed the orange chicken. Tasted like it came from the super market freezer section. There were 4 different servers in the outside section. Non of which offered us water or service. Having been in the restaurant business for many years I did go and speak to the manager about our experience and he didn't really say or do much. I said I think our server needs some training since she never checked back with us never got me my drink but charged us for it as well as said nothing about never coming to check on her table. I would not recommend this place. There are to many other good spots to waste your time and money here. They really need to train their staff and have a much better front of the house experience for there diners. This was completely unacceptable. I didn't want a free meal or anything comped but the excuses to me are just unacceptable it wasn't busy and if it was support your staff by making rounds and helping out. There was plenty of staff just standing around on their phones. Steer clear of this place. The reviews are deceiving. We...

The menu features a wide variety of options, ranging from classic American dishes to innovative fusion cuisine. No matter what your taste preferences may be, you're sure to find something to suit your palate at Libby's.
The quality of the food is exceptional, with fresh ingredients and expertly crafted dishes. The flavors are well-balanced, and the presentation is beautiful. Whether you're looking for a light and healthy meal or something more indulgent, there are plenty of options to choose from.
In addition to the delicious food, the service at Libby's is top-notch. The staff are knowledgeable and attentive, and they go out of their way to make sure that you have a memorable dining experience. From recommending dishes to offering drink pairings, they are always there to help.
The only downside you experienced was the open patio doors causing the entire restaurant to feel very humid. However, this is a minor issue that should not detract from the overall quality of the dining experience at Libby's. If anything, it just adds to the charm of the restaurant, as it creates a lively and vibrant atmosphere.
Overall, I would highly recommend Libby's to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Sarasota, Florida. From the delicious food to the attentive service, it's a restaurant that truly stands out. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a memorable meal, you won't be...
Read moreIn the past decade we have visited Libby's countless times and always been relatively pleased. In recent years, my mother and I were diagnosed with gluten and lactose allergies. We were excited to find Libby's on a GF guide and to return to the restaurant, however we were disappointed by our visit.
The first thing we noticed is that there were no allergens listed on the menu. This was surprising given Florida's Food Allergy Awareness Act. Interestingly enough, they did list gluten free pasta as a substitute for regular pasta. We attempted to figure out which dishes were gluten free but our waitress was unable to provide concrete answers, even when returning from asking the kitchen. You would think that there would be a gluten free pasta sauce available given that you can order GF pasta but you would be wrong. None of the sauces were gluten free and neither were any of the other dishes on the menu. The only food option we were presented with was the marinara sauce from the spaghetti and meatballs dish. Of course, without the meatballs since those are made with breadcrumbs. If there were any other GF options, our waitress was unable to appropriately communicate this.
We decided to end our dining experience early since two of our three diners were unable to find anything on the menu to accommodate their dietary needs. In an age where dietary restrictions are becoming more common, it's a shame to see a prominent restaurant like Libby's close the door to the massive community...
