Absolutely Unacceptable and Dangerous for Anyone with Allergies or Health Conditions
We recently stayed in Siesta Key and, as loyal customers of Pura Vida who eat there 2ā3 times per week, we made a special effort to drive an hour to this location, trusting it would uphold the same standards. Unfortunately, what we experienced was shocking negligenceāespecially from a business that markets itself as āhealthyā while charging premium prices (and still serving food in plastic, by the way).
I have severe dietary restrictions due to a recent surgeryāspecifically no soy, gluten, or dairy. I communicated this multiple times over two consecutive days to the same employee: a young blonde woman with blue eyes working under a manager named John (if I recall correctly). She appeared to take my concerns seriously: entered the order in front of me, checked the allergy binder, and even confirmed that substituting Chipotle Aioli for Ginger Soy was safe for me.
And yetāI was still served food containing allergens I explicitly told them I could not have. The exact ingredients I said I must avoid were in the food I was given. I ended up in the hospital during what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation.
To make matters worse, thereās no direct phone number to reach this location to even speak to someone about what happened. For a brand that claims to care about wellness, this level of irresponsibility is appalling.
If you have serious allergies, dietary restrictions, or health concernsāDO NOT trust this place with your wellbeing. What happened to me was not just careless; it...

We drove 30 minutes out of our way just to have breakfast hereāand it was absolutely worth it. We used to go to Pura Vida in Miami, and when we realized thereās a location nearby, we couldnāt resist the nostalgia.
Everything we ordered was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully presented. The Avocado Salmon bowl with cilantro jasmine rice was loaded with flavor and perfectly balanced. The Jenās Herb salad topped with raw wild tuna was a clean, nutrient-packed hit. Their Super Greens smoothie and Matcha Latte with almond milk were both delicious and energizing.
But the surprise star? That matcha pistachio cookie. Soft, rich, and topped with roasted pistachiosāabsolutely addictive.
The prices are a little on the higher side, but youāre paying for high-quality, healthy ingredients and a breezy, peaceful vibe. Weāll gladly keep going out of our way for a spot that makes health taste this good.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my second poor experience here. Iāve been multiple times and this may be my last. my colleague and I love the coffee so we trade off who picks up bags weekly. I have had the same experience with the same cashier twice now (last time when I was dining with my husband and then again today when I was picking up coffee) I came in today to buy a bag of coffee asked for it to be coarse ground. They were plenty of empty tables and no line behind me. First she Just smiled and nodded But when she put the coffee into a bag, I repeated ā Can you grind this coarse please?ā. She then said they donāt grind coffee. Ironically, Iāve had my bags ground every time I have come in. I asked if this was new as I have just bought a ground bag last week and she asked if it was during the week Because they donāt grind on the weekendsā¦interesting enough, I sent my friend in after me and they had no issue...
