We decided to try this new place near UTC. The vibe and feel was very classy and upscale. Quite different than the normal restaurants around the UTC mall. We were a party of 4 with a reservation. We were seated right away by a very nice hostess.DJ was our waiter and he was really nice and knowledgeable. However he did say to not try the salmon salad due to it being super salty. I thought that was a bit odd since the restaurant just opened and there was already something on the menu we were being told to stay away from. We ordered drinks first and then the appetizers. The drinks were PHENOMENAL! They were well made and came out promptly. We had 2 appetizers, the gourmet wings and the shrimp cocktail. ( we were so hungry I forgot to take a pic of them). They were very good and didn’t have to wait too long to enjoy them. Our second round of drinks came out pretty quick as well. The main courses came out after about 30 min after ordering. We had the Blackened chicken fettuccine, 2 of us had the grouper and the other had the Chicken Parm. The chicken parm was really good and cheesy. I personally had the fettuccine, it was fine. The menu said I came with kale but literally had 2 wilted pieces on the plate. Not sure why they even include it since it did nothing for the dish and seemed like an afterthought to add color to the plate. The pasta and sauce tasted good as I was told it was homemade. Both the groupers were VERY over cooked. Not a little but really, really overcooked. Its a shame since they were each quite expensive. The plating was also very lackluster, especially on plates that were over 30$. That’s great you want to do organic food and whatnot, but organic can still look beautiful and presented well. There are dozens of restaurants that have amazing food and plate them beautifully for the same price or cheaper. I also have no idea why they have sushi on the menu. There were only 3 options and the rest of the menu has nothing to do with Asian or sushi cuisine. Just seems really odd to even include sushi at all. One thing I have never seen at a restaurant this size was the size of the bathrooms. There was one urinal and one stall for the mens bathroom and always a wait to use it. They were very small. We didn’t have a chance to visit the other side that had the bar but it looked very nice. I will most likely be back for the drinks but the food left a lot to be desired, especially for the price, since we ended up spending over 300$ after tip. The food was forgettable and not a place I would recommend for eating at the moment. I feel like they need to grow more as a restaurant and find their identity with the food and prices...
Read moreI’ve very rarely posted a negative review about a restaurant, especially one that’s opened recently. First I’ll start by saying this restaurant will certainly fail if they don’t find a world class Chef. This food is such poor quality I’m shocked. It tasted like it came out of the deep freezer and not fresh at all. I’ve been there four times. The first time I went I ordered the French dip and took a couple bites and asked for a to-go container and threw it out on the way to my car. The second time was brunch/breakfast with my Daughter. We got seated in 15 minutes and didn’t have a reservation. We then got our food an hour later and it was dry and tasted like it was forgotten under a heat lamp for the better part of it. My Daughter and I were starving and when we finally got our food we were shocked once again by the poor quality of the food and it’s lackluster taste. The service this time was really bad and there was lack of direction and no management to be seen as far as I could tell. The third time I ate at the bar with business associates that invited me there (otherwise I’d have taken them anywhere else) I ordered the French dip sandwich once again and so did two of the other guys that were with me. The service was slow and the food once again paralleled Dennys. Tonight was the 4th time there. I had just left Best Buy and the Wife had a taste for Skirt Steak. I saw it on the menu while I was looking at the Christmas lights. I decided to get it and give George’s one last shot. The Restaurant was empty at 7:00 pm aside from two tables. I ordered from the hostess and she told me twenty minutes. I went to the pet store and returned 30 minutes later and my food wasn’t ready. The hostess disappeared looking for it and finally ten minutes later found it somewhere. I ordered the shrimp tempura as well. I drove straight home and split both orders on two plates for my Wife and I to get the best (or worst) of both worlds. The tempura was so fishy tasting it very well may have been going bad. The skirt steak was also so bad we actually only took a bite. The potatoes were the best thing but a 5 at best. I gave this place the benefit of the doubt three additional times with the excuse they were new and going through growing pains. Never again. They need a world class Chef and proper staff manager immediately or this place will being closing up shop. The only reason I gave this restaurant 2 stars is because it’s truly a beautiful place. That’s the...
Read moreThis was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I booked the easter brunch three weeks in advance. I Specifically requsted an inside table. Got to the restaurant and they tried seating us outside with zero shade, and I was told there were no tables inside that could accomodate 6 people. They finally found a table for us inside the bar area that was more than enough space for 6 people.
After taking our initial order, the server came back to tell me they were out of what I had ordered. Which was dissapointing but I found something else on the menu. We waited over an hour before any food came out. Everytime we asked were were just told "the kitchen is really backed up". When food finally came out, only two of the six people at our table got their food. There was also no silverware at the table, and we had to go to the bar and ask for some, so the two people who got their food could eat. It was probably another 10 minutes and still no one else at our table had their food. We finally asked for a manager, and got the food probably 10 minutes after that.
Even when the food did come out, it was only part of the order. We were then told they were still cooking the potatoes which almost everyone at our table had ordered. When we finally got all of our food, the toast was extremely dry and the bacon was barely cooked. The default toast was seeded rye, which I feel like should have been mentioned on the menu.
While all of this was happening, they were preparing for a private event that was taking place in the same room. There were people literally sweeping under our feet. And it definitely felt like we had been forgotten. The server was very nice, but we only saw her once or twice the entire time we were there. She did not come back until she realized it had been so long and we hadn't gotten our food yet. As we set with empty glasses and no silverware, the server had come back in a different outfit getting ready for the private event.
We never even got an apology or any kind of acnkowledgement from management that there was a problem. They did take 20% of the bill, but honestly everything was so bad that it should have been more than 20%. And we definitely should have atleast gotten a "I'm sorry it has taken so long".
We should have walked out and eaten...
