I’ve been trying to make this one my favorite places. I love that they have vegan options and thought it would be a cool late night spot. I’ve been a bunch of times since moving to the area and it’s just too inconsistent. The hours change regularly (one day I’ve gone at 11pm and they’re open serving food, but I’ve tried to go at like 8pm and they’re closed) If I do go back it will never be on a Thursday that’s for sure. My most recent experience was the cherry on top to force me somewhere else.

The service was subpar (to be polite) it was open mic night, there were about 10 people in the whole place and the ambiance wasn’t there. It was way to loud and impossible to have a conversation. I couldn’t get my servers attention with a hand up. She over charged me for my meal (maybe she thought It was my first time idk) and when I asked her about it she said it was because I got an ā€œupgradedā€ side…although this was the same side I always get. It was not listed on the itemized bill as an up charge nor did she tell me the soggy broccoli would be an up charge today

….and on top of that I’m clearly pregnant and the DD and she literally charged me $3.00 for a water with lemon (that was on the bill) …a water….(everyone else in my party had bar drinks) it was painfully obvious that she hates her job (she wouldn’t engage or even smile) and was pulling out all the tricks to increase the check price I was super annoyed and asked if they always charge for water (since I was here last week and they didn’t)…she said yes …haha lies. Idk why people...

Nice place but count your change (if that matters to you). I stopped in here for a happy hour beer. They've got a nice selection including domestic drafts for 3 bucks. I had one, handed over a twenty, and was confused when I got $16 back in change. So I looked at the bill, thinking maybe they'd charged the non-happy hour price of $4, but no, it was $3.21. When I asked what was up - and this is where things got a bit weird - the server acted like it was odd of me to be bothered about what she called 75 cents (actually 79 cents for us math geniuses lol), but she gave me back three quarters and I tipped her the usual buck. So here's the thing, I've been to bars before where they don't bother about the change, but guess what, they round off to their disadvantage, not the customer's! Which I've always super appreciated when that happens. Not the case here though. If the server thinks change is not important then she should have given me back $17 for the $3 beer. As a customer you shouldn't ever have to worry about if you're getting the right change back; that really doesn't leave a good impression and is just plain unprofessional. I'll give the place another chance, hoping this isn't standard practice. Sorry guys, you're a nice bar but you've got to give people their correct change back and not act like the customer is being petty for expecting that....

Another outstanding restaurant my wife and I wish we had tried sooner. Their happy hour specials from 4pm - 6pm are great. From the beer prices to the food there is nothing to not like about Tamiami Tap.

We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately by the bar staff. After ordering our drinks we looked over the menu and decided to order from the Happy Hour options. My wife chose the chicken tenders with fries, while I went with the sliders. I had to order a side of fries since the sliders did not come with. However, the price of the sliders and fries was still less than the burger and fries that are on the regular menu.

My wife's chicken was seasoned very well, and was battered just right. The sliders had an amazing flavor with a soft bun. That side of fries? It could easily have been shared by two, maybe three people, it was so large. Their seasoning was also spot on. The sliders were so good I ordered a second offering of them, much to the dismay of my diet.

The atmosphere offered a laid back, relaxing feel and, being a Saturday early evening, we were able to enjoy the wonderful live music.

It may have taken us quite a while to finally try Tamiami Tap but rest assured it will not be long until...

Excellent use of this space. I've been performing at this location since it was metro cafe (2006) and then word of mouth (2014) The improvements are perfect, coverage from the sun and rain over the entire outdoor back patio where the doggos are allowed. There are a couple of couches out there complete with coffee tables. They added a cool looking garage door which is genius now the space flows freely from outdoor to indoor with a breeze. I ordered the chicken burrata salad and the pina colada cheesecake. A good value and very fresh. Waitstaff there is super attentive. This place is open late serving the service industry I believe til 2am. Kitchen closes at 1am. Tuesday nights is a songwriter listening room acoustic open mic hosted by captain celeste dorage. Sign up early and stay late. Try Tamiami Tap on Osprey in Sarasota !

What a cool space off the main downtown sarasota strip! Pleasantly surprised when we walked in. Large outdoor area with space heaters and large TV (should put a few more to draw in sports fanatics wanting to watch multiple games). Outdoor area nicely transitions to inside seating and bar with garage door style entry. The staff were super friendly and the owner introduced himself to pretty much every patron there which was a nice touch. Prices are reasonable. Food was awesome. Ordered sliders and chicken wings. The drinks were tasty as well. There was a band playing Saturday night. They offer brunch specials and have an open mic night and trivia night. I stink at trivia but maybe a bingo night may be fun! šŸ˜€ highly recommend.
