Payne Park Playground — Attraction in Sarasota

Sarasota has nice playgrounds, but this is probably my children’s favorite. It is quite big, has a circus theme, and has lots of different options for playing, climbing, sliding and more. There are a few covered picnic tables and shaded seats in the playground area. There’s also “grassy” (astroturf) areas to sit on. The playground has shade sails to help provide some shade for the playing children and keep the metal equipment from getting too hot. Some misting fans are placed around to produce some cooling air during the hotter months. Overall, this playground is kept up pretty well considering the amount of use it gets. There are some attractions that always seem to be broken, but there’s so many other activities available here that it usually doesn’t matter much. There are a few downfalls to this playground: It’s really lacking in the number of swings available, with only two regular swings, and no baby swings at all. The size of the playground makes it a bit difficult to keep an eye on the kids, especially during busy times. This is a very nice park with a circus theme. Many very nice playground equipment and fun musical instruments that you can play. There is astroturf on the ground and areas were the astroturf is padded for safe landings. It was busy today, and children and parents were respectful and seemed to share a good sense of community with one exception. One young teenage boy seemed to think it was alright to use the f word as loudly as he could as well as other curse words.
