Payne Park — Attraction in Sarasota

Beautiful , Construction going on from the New Cooling Plant , which looks like they R on A Roll. Should B done w/ street work shortly... Also , I think it is Awesome the City Landscape Office took over the Auditorium at the end of Laurel Rd. Great Move . Doing Fencing & I am looking Forward 2 C-ing what else they Do . One BIG ? IS R THEY GOING TO TAKE OVER AB SMITH PARK RIGHT NEXT DOOR WHICH TIES INTO 1ST PRESPRŶTARIAN CHURCH... WILL IT B FOR PARKING CITY TRUCKS , LOADING MATERIALS ETC..? POND IS A CESSPOOL. BARELY 2' OF H20 . IF THEY DRAIN IT . GOING 2 B ALOT OD WORK . AB SMITH PARK IS WET LAND. MAJOR SAND & Dirt Removal & then New Drainage systems ... Anxious 2 C if the Turn AB Smith in A Parking/Loading Dock for City Trucks .... Do Not get me wrong , I have spent 8 hrs a day laying in AB .. My Condo I Call it I have 3 Palm trees that always give me shade . I might B A 54 yr young man who is retired on Disability But I spend hrs working Buisness that is not 2 far away from fruitation & it will Sell immediately. This Buisness is for My 2 AWESOME DAUGHTERS WHO RESIDE IN AUSTIN ...... HAVE NOT EVEN TOLD THEM , GOING TO B A WONDERFUL SURPRISE WHEN I Get to final stages of Distribution , That is when I change the Ownership 2 my 2 Loves.. Srry , this Post was suppose 2 B about PAYNE PARK ... WONFERFUL PLAYGROUND FOR YOUNGS ONE & IF U BY CHANCE PLAY DISK GOLF THEY HAVE A 9 HOLE COARSE. Enormously spacious & quite pleasant to look at no matter what time of day it is. There's a frisbee golf course for those who are into that sort of thing, also, there is a gorgeous red clay running/walking path that circles around the inner 3/5ths of the park. A lovely thing about this park is that there is no shortage of room...anywhere!! You could set up a soccer or football game with 18 to 20 of you're friends, like one group does every Tue and Thurs, and you don't even come kinda close to bumping into/bothering other people's activities. There is plenty to enjoy here whether it be an afternoon picnic or one of the occasional 8 p.m. movies that are shown on a drive-in/cinema size screen in the front of the park that serves as an amphitheater. There is a giant sized state of the art playground for the kiddies, an actual fully equipped skate park for the older kiddies & of course a "Cafe in the Park" for mom and dad that serve lunch and dinner and have live music one night a week. There are also twin lakes w/ fountains that cascade water an easy 20' - 25' (feet) into the air full w/ animal life and surrounding benches. There are also tennis courts, clay and regular, also a decent sized auditorium for events, actually just saw a wedding last Sunday at that very place. The amenities just continue on for what seems like forever and they DO..so plz know that whatever your park pleasures are you definitely can and will...

They really did an amazing job with this place. Great place to take the kids, enjoy a picnic, walk your dog, exercise, people watch, check out wildlife, relax and read a book, the list goes on. There is a large circus themed playground the kids (and kids at heart) will love and a skate park for the ones "too grown up" for playgrounds any more. Lol They have tennis courts if that's more your thing or you could get everyone together for a round of disc golf set up throughout the park. You can walk/run along the roomy pathways winding around the park while checking out the multiple different ponds. Each one has a fountain and plenty of wildlife hanging out. It does have a cafe, but the food options were not really my kind of thing and even though there were a few items I would have normally went for, I opted not to. A teacher's salary equals a very tight budget so for me personally, bringing lunch and having a picnic is the way to go. But the cafe is very cute and the ladies were very nice, so if your budget is a little more forgiving than mine (basically meaning anything above flat broke 🙄) then it may be worth your while to stop in for a bite while enjoying your nice day...
