We came here as a group of eight on a Sunday afternoon after playing pickleball at G.T. Bray. The restaurant is easy to find along Tamiami Trail, with plenty of parking available. From the moment we walked in, we could tell this place was different from your typical Chinese restaurant. The atmosphere was clean, warm, and inviting, with tasteful touches of natural wood throughout. They also offer private rooms for groups of 4 or 8 — a great option if you're looking for a quieter, more intimate dining experience. We ordered four appetizers, four entrées, plus the curry seafood fried rice and congee. Honestly, we enjoyed just about everything. A few dishes really stood out: the popcorn chicken (鹽酥雞) was packed with flavor, the fried pork ribs with tangerine peel had a unique citrusy depth, and the Sichuan boiled fish fillet (水煮魚) delivered bold, spicy goodness. The total came to under $30 per person, just as advertised — a great value considering the quality and generous portion sizes. As we were leaving, we had the chance to meet the head chef, Mr. Woo (伍師傅), and thank him personally for an...
Read moreUpdate: Make sure you get what you order... I ordered the beef tripe today, and I guess they didn't think I would order something like that, because they reaffirmed with me 4 times that was what I wanted, and kept asking if I wanted the ribs. I kept saying "I'd like the braised tripe". They left and then came back and asked if I wanted the braised beef, to which I responded "No, I wanted the braised tripe". When the food came, they brought the ribs. I told them that wasn't what I ordered, and they showed me where they had first put in the tripe, then changed it to the ribs on the ticket. They wouldn't make it right, so I just ended up having to eat the deep-fried ribs, dusted with powdered sugar. Eh... I think this will put me off coming back here for a while...
The best Chinese food I've had in Sarasota by far! Much more authentic and delicious than anything else I've had in Sarasota or even Tampa. We had lettuce with oyster sauce, boiled spicy beef, and chow mein. Every single thing was...
Read moreI’m very excited to have both this restaurant and MyMamma in walking distance. Victoria’s took the place of Kyuramen and in my opinion is much better (I understand that they are two different types of cuisine). We ordered the Sichuan Beef, BBQ pork and broccoli in garlic sauce. All dishes were excellent but the beef was the best. The meat was very tender and the sauce was full of fragrance: scallions, garlic, onions, cloves, fresh ginger. The one thing is it’s very spicy. You can pick out the pieces of dried red pepper if you want to reduce the level of spice. The service was friendly and timely. I highly recommend it and I’m happy to have delicious restaurants on...
