SO COZY. The Edgar Allen Poe life size cardboard cutout was very interesting, we looked at eachother as I drank my coffee. The sandwiches were SO good mine had avocado and usually sandwiches are so dry but these were good. The coffee was eh because it was very strong and jt made my head hurt, but that’s because I don’t have a coffee addiction and the only coffee I usually get is the Java chip Frappuccino from Starbucks. I wish they had cats, that’s the only thing that could be better. I didn’t actually look at any of the books on the shelves but I saw Warrior cats and knew my 4th grade self would have loved this place too, especially because it was so small and cozy and I used to hate being out in the open/ not having my back to things. The environment was so nice the college students would come and talk with their friends. I stayed for a whole afternoon until closing time and it felt like I was in Gilmore Girls. I barely finished one episode because I hated the character relationships and it felt so American but in a bad way. This coffee shop felt like I was living in the show though. If I don’t open a store like this in the future, what am I doing with my life.

Loved this cute cute place. While I love an old, dusty used bookstore—- this place is NOT that. It’s spotless and bright! My only <minor minor> <complaint?> issue is that the chairs aren’t super comfortable for sitting and eating and reading…… The people working here took my book list and did the [personal shopper] thing for me and went and found things for me. Absolutely lovely! The coffee was amazing and they started a tab for me so I could hang out and even brought me the coffee. These small touches were so so welcome and appreciated!!!!! Great place with a positive vibe and important social mission!!!!

Shelf Indulgence is a quaint, quiet and cozy use shook store with great prices and lovely baristas. The only downside is that it’s small. During busy season it’s asked of people not to stay longer than 2 hours. However, the small size is what contributes to the cozy factor, and if you need a place to relax or study this is a wonderful choice. Lots of interesting books, a chalkboard in the bathroom you’re free to write on, and the iced teas are switched everyday so there’s always variety… and which means they’re fresh! I haven’t tried the food, but noticed vegetarian and GF options.

Absolutely amazing atmosphere and even more amazing people. If you're looking for the best coffee, or tea. The best books and snacks, this is the place for you! When I say the best coffee in sarasota I mean the best coffee, adapt and choose how you would like to have it, sit, sip and enjoy! Amazing choices in food, and incredible accommodation for allergies and has vegan options. I personally have many allergies and they were able to make me foods I've never had before. Stop by and get a coffee, tea and a snack pick up a book and get to relaxing!

This cafe/bookstore is definitely a Hidden Gem of Sarasota. The environment is casual and welcoming (to people and also their pups), there’s a wide selection of books at reasonable prices, and the food and drinks were delicious! I loved the creative touches like the ‘blind date with a book’ and ‘book and a movie’ packages. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a regular even after your first visit! We’ll be back for sure. :)

Stopped by after being recommended by someone from the Sarasota Bradenton Silent Book Club & was so excited to find a first edition copy of Throne of Glass! We also splurged with an almond joy latte and some pastries that were delicious. Checked out their website & found a first edition copy of Crown of Midnight and immediately purchased to pick up. Such a cute spot with really special books. Will definitely be back.
