Why do I keep going back??? I’m done with this place. Save yourself the trouble and go to dos Portillos Went yet again and ordered pork Chile verde on the side. They gave me green salsa. My husband went back in and said this isn’t Chile verde and they insisted it was. No it’s not. I have had their pork Chile verde. They gave me a large salsa. I don’t want this. I have no use for this. They don’t even know what their own Mexican dishes are. Picture of what I got compared to the photo in THEIR SITE of Chile verde. These guys get my order wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME. I don’t find out until I get home, unrwap my burrito and take a bite. So frustrating! New update: wrong again. Ordered a cane asada supreme quesadilla, chips and salads, a burrito and a Coke. I got a supreme quesadilla no asada, it had beans in it which I am extremely allergic to, they never said it had beans only veggies. They forgot the chips and salsa. I called and they gave me a credit for the quesadilla and said I never ordered chips and salsa. So literally didn’t get anything to eat, my husband at least for his burrito but it was a waste of time to stop there and pay money. Update: we tried this place for the last time tonight. They finally got my order correct but when I ate it I was very disappointed. Steak and eggs burrito was a skimpy tortilla filled with potatoes and a very seldom piece of tiny steak. No cheese, even though it’s supposed to and over cooked eggs. We asked for extra salsa and were given ONLY 3 green containers to split between 3 burritos and a carne asada fries. Also only given one napkin and as we were eating on the run this is very inconvenient with messy food. Not a...
Read moreUnaware of whether they were short-staffed or uninspired, but we went last night and ordered for my daughter and myself a bit after 9:00 p.m. The nearby In-and-Out was jam-packed, so we journeyed to Chubby’s, nearby Arctic Circle. All were busier than a beekeeper’s wife wearing a flowered bonnet.
We love Beto’s generally, and it costs a bit more, but we were famished by then. I ordered #7, the Carne Asada tacos with retried beans and rice. My daughter had a burrito and a churro. We both got Sprite. The total was nearly $30, and the order took almost 10 minutes to get. By the time we got it, we hurried home to gobble up outt expensive takeout.
If we were paying for all the hot sauce included, it would almost make sense. I suppose they were making sure the twice-cooked steak was jerky. It crunched so loud when I chewed, my daughter asked what I was eating. The additional monies we spent for sour cream and guard were outrageous!
All in all, we learned three very important lessons. First, no matter how hungry we are, we’ll wait for decently prepared food; second, when one line is empty while the others burst—ask ourselves “why?”; and third, just because the food at EVERY other Betos is lip-smacking delicious doesn’t mean we should expect the same service from all of them.
Long and short of it—if we ever get strong-head driven for Beto’s in the future, we’ll wait until we’re willing to forge into the valley. I’ll starve before I go...
