Expensive sit down meal prices - but not expensive sit down quality.
Each meal is about 15$ and while it's a good amount of food - there isn't anything that stands out and puts it above the rest.
The chicken was juicy and has a great crunch (mostly). The crunch is different from KFC or probably most other places you've had fried chicken. It felt very Japanese inspired almost a tempura or a panko fry.
But for the price in which you pay I would have expected the food to at least come salted. I had to ask for some from behind the counter. Unsalted fries and unsalted fried chicken is a travesty.
I ordered the garlic chicken fritter things, they came dredged in a soy sauce garlic oil - however I'm confident no garlic was harmed in the making of it. When I order something with the name garlic in it I want to be hit in the face with garlic. The other problem is there was so much of this soft draped over it that by the time you got to the second or third piece of chicken it was no longer crunchy it was soggy. ( Picture included )
The atmosphere got a three because the price betrayed the look of the inside. The garbage can was just a flip up top and people were trying to balance their trays on top of after they dumped their garbage. The Feng shui of the room itself was just off, what I mean is people typically want to line up behind each other as they're waiting for their food but they put tables and seats there so you have to line up sort of sideways.
No it wasn't bad but it needs improvement. A few quick fixes would be : Rearrange the tables, get a better garbage can, put salt by the soda machine if you refuse to sell your food.
Have her the biggest fix is going to be the flavor profile of the food. The juicy chicken and crunchy breading is there - but the flavors are not. And yes I did try all their sauces, most of...
Read moreWe took the family to lunch here on a whim and I’m glad we did! We ordered their Spicy Krispy Chicken Sandwich, the Garlic Krispy Chicken Pieces, and the Kid’s Meal. All three were fantastic. The chicken was perfectly crispy (as you might expect) and their selections of sauces were likewise excellent.
Their spicy sandwich uses a lot of cayenne pepper to deliver the spice, which reminds me of the Nashville hot chicken approach.
The garlic chicken pieces were so good that every member of our family had to have some. We paired them with their Orangie sauce at Kluck’s recommendation (10/10 would try again).
Not only did we love the food, we also loved the service! They brought out stickers for our two boys after we sat down! That was really the icing on the cake. Kluck’s went the extra mile to make our lunch worthwhile.
The only criticism I have is that the establishment was swelteringly hot. I’m not sure if the AC wasn’t working or if they needed to prop an extra door open, but it must have been 80+°F inside. I feel bad for the cooks in the back! They must have been uncomfortable.
We’re fans of locally owned restaurants and Luck’s has earned our loyalty. Keep it...
Read moreI decided to try this spot on my own before my family. The drive-through was fast. It was a little weird because the default recording when you pull up says you're at a pizza place. I got the chicken pieces, curly fries, and the Mac and cheese. Fast, friendly service. When I got home to eat, there were no napkins, no utensils, and no sauce for my pieces. I'm not sure if I was supposed to order the sauce separately or not. The chicken pieces were a little oily but would've been cut through well with the right sauce. They were cooked perfectly, very tender! The curly fries were better than other curly fries I've had, but not very crunchy. The Mac and cheese were actually shells and cheese and had joined together in a full clump in the 5 minute drive home. I got the Mac and cheese so I could see if my kid would eat it. When I opened it, I knew I couldn't even ask my kid to try it. I could tell everyone was working hard, and it was nice to see an employee dropping, not-frozen hand battered chicken pieces into the fryer as I waited. I'm looking forward to trying the sandwiches and trying again as they get into...
