“The cook aced presentation in culinary school, skipped the day on seasoning”
Morning Glory is located in the Seaside Plaza just north of Loews and south of Desoto Parkway. In other words, it is a hop, skip, and jump away from BBDO HQ. After a short jaunt, I arrived at my destination, and upon entering the establishment, I was taken aback by how clean and friendly the atmosphere was. The place was cheery; there is no other way to describe it. Jen is my server today, and she did a great job. I asked Jen for an order of Greek Benedict, some Cannoli Toast (sans gun), and their version of the California breakfast staple sweeping the nation, Avocado toast. My editor says they put Avocado on everything out in California. I love fresh avocados, and who doesn't like toast?
Jen wasn't gone all that long before she reappeared laden with my sampling of their fares. After taking the obligatory pics for my loyal readers, I commenced the job at hand. First up on the Big Boy's ever-persnickety palate was the Greek Benedict. Traditional Eggs Benedict for those who haven't sampled this glorious American breakfast concoction, is comprised of poached eggs served on Canadian Bacon perched atop a toasted English Muffin and covered with hollandaise Sauce. If done correctly it is spectacular. This was a “Greek” version as it had (trust me and look closely) a smidgen of feta. That's not what got me about this dish. What got me was the utter lack of flavor and the unmistakable taste of reconstituted powder hollandaise sauce as opposed to the fresh taste I was expecting if only because the menu said it was homemade. FYI, adding water to something and whisking it in a bowl does not constitute homemade. When the sauce basically contains three or four ingredients: melted butter, egg yolk, lemon juice, and a dash of cayenne (according to James Beard), why you would choose to go the industrial route in the first place is beyond me. How do you make such intricate food completely void of taste and seasoning? It ain't easy, but the cook at Morning Glory did it with aplomb.
Moving on to the intriguingly named Cannoli Toast. After one bite, I assume the cook is unfamiliar with the taste of Cannoli. However, a tablespoon of Cool Whip and cinnamon nuts is the wrong direction in which to pursue this Italian delicacy. It wasn't terrible, I mean how can cool whip and cinnamon be terrible? But it certainly was a waste of effort.
This brings me to the final item for review, the Avocado toast. This was served on toasted Italian bread and consisted of avocado, diced tomato, shredded Parmesan cheese, olive oil, black pepper and drizzled with a balsamic glaze. This was an interesting take on the dish and one I found to be quite enjoyable on the palate and is what kept this review from being below a 3 Star.
The Big Boy says, “It's a mixed bag. Decent in a pinch. The execution is lacking, however the...

As of March 4th 2022 --- This is a Good and Bad review. The Good: Excellent food in a choice of inside or outside dining at very affordable prices. The ocean is near with a sea breeze most days making the outside dining very enjoyable. Parking is easy and a short walk. Have brought friends to this Breakfast/Lunch restaurant many times along with ourselves when in the Satellite Beach area.
The Bad: Ocean views are blocked by the parking lot. The check/bill…. is interesting as well. Wish I had taken a picture of it, but was a little shocked by it. During the pandemic, we all have gotten over the tip for the kitchen help, but what appeared on the bill, BEFORE ANY PAYMENT, is a “Credit Card Charge”???? And we paid cash, but this charge was not removed even when we asked about it. The explanation, “ That appears on all the checks.” So, I asked again, but we are paying cash. Did not matter the owner has decided to share his credit charges with customers EVEN IF YOU PAY CASH!!!! Yes, the charge is small now but can grow and grow.
If this does not bother you reading this, then ok. However being a person who does not pay any credit card charges, this “Slipped” in charge is outrageous! So for the immediate future the other very nearby restaurants, with an actual ocean view, will be getting our business
June 25, 2025 update... Sorry no pictures on this review as we were enjoying the ocean breeze while taking in the sea gull and pelicans flying through our view of the ocean as we ate our big breakfasts.
One of the last reviews we did here spoke of the 4% upcharge on the check before payment for credit card charges. Back then, this writer noted the charge to the waitress and then the manager that we were paying cash and wanted the charge removed. They declined and this writer wrote the review about it... To which the owner responded that in the future such charges would be reviewed when you pay with cash.
So today.... We asked for the credit card charge to be removed as we were paying in cash. The charge was removed!!! 😁
All is good. Just remember out there to ask for the 4% charge to be removed if...
Read moreWas in town for a wedding, been on the search for a good breakfast burrito all over the south east coast since I moved here from Texas in 2018. Food was 84$ thought that was crazy but, listen the pancakes/sweet items. Amazing, whoever is doing that give them a raise they are amazing I could kiss them. My burrito on the other hand I was so sad about, this is the south, why??? Are the home fries not cooked all the way through? Basically raw potatoes made me so sad. Egg texture was a bit overcooked and spongy kind of like a McDonald’s breakfast egg. I loved the assembly of of burrito y’all did that the way the egg is rolled up in there?? Amazing. I have conflicting feelings about this place. Overall the savory breakfast items are a bit flavorless and underseasoned. If you want an amazing sweet pancake the Oreo pancake was phenomenal. I moaned. The parking situation is unfortunate and thankfully I was just picking food up so it’s was quick in and out of the lot but the way people were out there taking photos of license plates when there’s only like 2-4?? Could be more just from where I parked how many signs I saw stating the parking policy. I think this place has so much potential to be amazing. It’s good but idk ab 84$ for pancakes one plate and a burrito (portions are big but this is America Ofcourse they’re big) I also got fries and girl, THEY DID THAT SHIT YOUR FRENCH FRIES ARE BOMB, which is why the home fries truly upset me. You guys can DO potatoes maybe it was just an off day for you guys and that’s real, I get that, but I left...
