This review actually started out being 1 star bc the initial service we got was absolutely horrible! The waitress we had(Tae) was either new, extremely inexperienced or tired/injured. First it took her forever just to come and take our drink orders. Then after she did take our drink orders she said she'll have to go get that first before being able to take anything else. So we waited nearly another 15 minutes before coming back with just our drink orders and then she didn't have all of the drinks. We had 5 adults and 4 kids in our party. So in her travels of going to retrieve the remaining drinks,I was able to get her attention long enough to slip in our orders for appetizers. Once again, a large amount of time went by and our waitress hadn't returned. So I got up to go see if I could see a manager or something about the issue, but then I spotted her up front with what appeared to be our appetizers. So I went back to our table. 4 of us ordered the crab stew and 1 order of mozzarella sticks. We only received 3 of the crab stew and they all were cold!! The marinara sauce was cold and the cheese sticks were just warm. So we sent the stews back to be heated. She returned about 10 minutes or so later with the "supposedly" heated stew and it was still cold and we still hadn't received the 4th one yet! My daughter asked to see the manager. She(Christina) came and heard our complaints and immediately offered an apology. Within 10 minutes she returned with fresh piping hot crab stew, all 4 of them. Afterwards our waitress came back and took our orders and literally ghosted us. Once again my daughter went up front and asked for the manager. We then had another waitress(Anna) come to our table to try and rectify the problem(s). Anna was AWESOME!! She came in and took control of everything. We all had our food within a reasonable amount of time and it was all hot. The manager Christina came out and explained what happened in reference to our first waitress and again apologized for the inconvenience. Anna's personality was wonderfully pleasant and her ppl skills were spot on! She changed what started out being an awful experience to the point of us wanting to just leave, to an enjoyable evening. Hat's off to the manager Christina and our super bubbly (new)waitress Anna for making my Birthday gathering one to remember(in a good way). And that's how this review got 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐...
Read moreI wish our server from the Abercorn location on Friday 10/6/23 had been on a server cam. This service wasn't just bad. It was terrible , and the fact that we were served warm cole slaw that was spoiled made matters worse. This young lady literally dropped our plates on the table with enough of a thud that fries came off the plate. Dropped my 9 yr old grandson's 1st and then pushed it to slide it across the table to him. He even commented to his mother, "Mom, she must be mad." We were given plastic utensils to go packets, which was another first me. We had to asked for condiments as none were offered (we all 3 ordered seafood) we were never offered a refill on our drinks, again we had to ask as she was passing our table to go to another. When the young lady came with the check, we were just really starting to eat, so basically, she never came back to the table. My daughter went to the cashier counter and had to ask for to go boxes. We left feeling like we wished we had gone somewhere else. Things sure have changed since I worked at Carey Hilliards in this same location 30 years ago. I love Carey Hillards and will continue to go to the Pooler location where the food and SERVICE are always great, but never this one again. I know good help is hard to find, but this is just sad. Read moreOrdered drive up at Carey Hillards tonight and the service was not good. The young lady took my order and I waited 30 min and still had not recieved my order. Meanwhile three vehicles that came after me recieved their orders. When I flagged down the waitress to inquire why my order was taking so long the excuse was were very busy. If that was the case why didnt she tell me that before I ordered and waited over 30 min. So I asked for a refund. The waitress then said the manager qould be coming out to speak to me because she didnt handle credit cards. Waited another 5 min no manager. Then the waitress comes out with my order and I'm like I dont want the food I want a refund. She proceeds to hand me the food and told me the manager will be coming out to speak with me. Waited another 7 min and the waitress comes out with a receipt for refund and said her manager wants the food back. Just a bunch of foolishness at the Abercorn location Then I looked at my receipt and noticed they didn't refund the tip I left tje waitress. Went inside to inquire about that and got the run around from the manager and the snarky waitress with an attitude. Terrible service and they stole the tip I left and I want it...
