Well, V & I were looking for some delicious authentic cuisine, and Chez Carole did not disappoint!! We found this Haitian gem of a restaurant tucked in the back left of the parking lot off Abercorn St in Savannah, GA, based on another's review. Thank you, Jessica♥️
We each had a Caesar salad with slivers of Parmigiano cheese 🧀 & I had a teeny tweak on mine: the Best Bleu Cheese dressing Wow!!
The made to order freshly squeezed lemonade was sweet & refreshingly delicious! Next time, tho an added libation will be a bonus!
Now onto the entres: V had the Haitian spicy chicken with Mac & Cheese, red beans & rice with a hint of cloves & 2 delicious Plaintains while I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken curry with fresh & colorful veggies with cabbage & carrots in a sauce also with a hint of cloves together with 2 crispy fried plantains.
We left Chez Carole's feeling full & holding our to go containers of exquisite blends of tasty treats for tomorrow!!

Read moreI was just planning on trying something a little different and expected pretty good food. But apon the first bite of Carole's food my taste buds were memorized. The first time I had the Oxtail meal, I also bought another for my wife to have later and it seriously almost didn't make it to her. Lol. I don't even normally eat that much but my stomach tried to find a way. I acted like it was just aight as I watched and waited as she tried it. It spoke for itself she was blown away too. Bought four for my family this weekend and everyone is raving. Same quality in every plate.
Money extremely well spent and you get so much. The rice is an excellent meal on its own. Slamming mac and cheese, delicious plantains. And I never had that type of spicy pickled coleslaw before. And now that's the only way I want it. Definitely the best Oxtail I've ever had. Extra tender, meaty, and savory. Not just bone and fat like others. The sauce and vegetables pair perfectly. Will be running through the rest...
Read moreI'll be honest. If I had the money to hire a personal chef, I would have hired Chef Carole on the spot, but instead YOU get the chance to eat her food, and you should. In an area surrounded by the usual bleah chain restaurants, you have the opportunity to instead go to a place where the food is made by someone who clearly loves to make good food and makes good food with love.
I had a bowl of the Haitian Beef and Butternut Squash soup and a green salad with shrimp along with a Haitian lemonade. Portion sizes are huge, and I was absolutely stuffed after just the soup, but I soldiered on and had some of the salad, and took the rest away (where it made an entire meal of its own).
Everything down to the vinegarette salad dressing was made from scratch. Yes, this takes time, and yes it costs a little more than those chain restaurants, but it's cheap at the price for food like this.
The menu has something for everyone, and despite only having tried a few items, I'm certain it's...
