A must try, non-touristy, EAT HERE NOW, in Savannah! My friend and I were here for work and wanted something away from Riverfront. This is definitely your place to get away from the crowds! It's not a big space but a great space to be in! There was a short wait for our table (great front door hostess!), so we opted for a drink at the bar; beer (local draft/can) and wine (limited selection), so we just opted for water at our table. And let me tell you that's when the magic happened! I scoped out the menu before we came (gotta consider my vegetarian friends ), so when Paige grabbed our waters we were ready to order! I was going for a classic and got their hamburger, but upgraded to the Hot Rod. Perfectly seasoned, handmade patty with the right amount of crust from the griddle (yes, I like these details and they're tasty too), the standard LTO but nothing standard about their pickles!! Yes my friends, these were in house pickles and I wanted more. Finally, topped it all off with feta and bacon. My only teeny weeny complaint is the bun. Too much bun to meat ratio and could've been grilled/toasted a little longer. Nonetheless, this was all made up by the amazing, crispy, hand cut, fried just right and salted FRIES!! SO. DAMN. GOOD. My friend had the veggie Reuben...he ate half before I asked if it was good! I could hear the crunch of the bread and to me, that's the sound of a successfully buttered and toasted to perfection sammich!! He couldn't say enough good things about and wanted to come back the next day for dinner too! So remember that I mentioned Paige? Great, because she didn't forget about us and was very attentive and accommodating! I can't say enough good things about this food but customer service is just as important. Paige hit that out of the park! You guys rock! Most certainly you're worth the wait when there is one. If I'm back in Savannah, you'll see me again. All my Yelpers and those that check Yelp reviews, don't second guess it, just go!

This was sad. It’s been a tradition for us to visit Green Truck every time we come to Savannah and have been doing so for many years. Wow, has this place gone downhill. My meal (veggie burger) was good, if extremely overpriced. (The up-charges are out of control.) My daughter ordered a PBJ from the kids’ menu. In her words, the sandwich was made from less than 3/4 of one piece of bread. How cheap can you be? You’re charging $6.50 for a PBJ and you can’t provide a full-sized sandwich? The cost to you is probably 50 cents. A minuscule amount of overcooked french fries accompanied the meal, all served on a tiny plate (you know, the kind that a little bitty appetizer comes on). The brownie we got for dessert, which cost $7, was just a regular brownie (not fresh), that was stuck in the microwave and served piping hot. To top it all off, the waitress bordered on rude. (I think that’s being kind, frankly…) Drink options for kids don’t include apple juice, unless you want to pay an up-charge of $2.50. For apple juice. Soda is included. There is no milk, no milkshakes, no other juice options, not even a stupid juice box. We will NEVER, I mean NEVER eat here again. We drove an hour each way from where we were staying to patronize this establishment, sitting in crazy traffic too, and I am so sorry we did. What a huge waste. PS: Note the cross-contamination. That bean on her plate was presumably from my meal.

We went here bc of the great reviews and were greatly dissapointed . The place is small and Probaly very lively on days that aren’t rainy as they have outdoor seating. The host was very nice and service is casual. We got the classic, the lone star , & (2) bottle waters (boiled water advisory) and our total was $39. They only have two ways you can order a burger as stated on the menu, “pink” or “burnt”. Okay when taking our order the server asked if we were okay with pink center . Yes, no one wants a dry burger … however, I don’t think it’s okay for burgers to be served almost mid rare . We asked for our check and just decided to leave after not being satisfied but the server insisted we get new burgers to our liking. We thought this was so nice as she didn’t want us to leave dissapointed when we were just going to pay and go but at $40 we opted to get them re made for to -go . The burgers were just as raw as before , the 1/3 lb burger is thick so it is unappetizing and questionable on safety temp . Even the texture is more like raw than juicy burger. Seems like they do use high quality ingredients which is a plus but overall just felt like a waste of money and ingredients considering the Togo was the same. I’m very surprised that this is rated so highly for burgers & fries bc that was unfortunately not our experience nor is this the best burger/fry I ever had.

I gave a one star not because of the food itself, but because of the way one of the servers that served me behaved after I left the restaurant. A friend of mine was working there at the time, and he knew we were friends, and the server named Matt, so rudely and openly asked my friend why did I leave only a certain dollar amount of tip? He asked the question in a manner that was intended to embarrass him in front of all of the other coworkers. First of all, a customer’s tip is not something that should be discussed with anyone. Secondly,, the reason I didn’t leave a better tip was because he was acting like an energizer bunny. My friend and I who I was dining with, could barely get a word in edgewise because he came to the table excessively. We were continuously interrupted when we were trying to have a discussion. I don’t know if he was ready for us to hurry and go so he could get another table or what but, I have never in all my years dining out, which, as a tired teacher, I do often, had a waiter discuss my tip with another employer that they knew I was friends with. What does that have to do with my friend, and why would he think that was appropriate? That was very unprofessional and unethical behavior for a waiter or waitress in any establishment and I will never go there again because of that very reason.

I also would like to add, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth to see management passing out beer to them employees while they’re working as a reward I would assume. I assume that is legal but it just seems that if that were to be done maybe it would be better suited to be done when customers were not there because I was sitting at the bar waiting on my friend to get off and witnessed it myself or else, I wouldn’t make this comment.

Additionally, as a teacher, I know I often think out of the box and I see the results of actions in a manner that maybe other persons would not see. As a manager or business owner, you may never know which employee is working under you who may have a prior alcohol problem that they may be trying to fight and doing so kind of projects an unheard or unsaid peer pressure for them to have to accept a drink as well. I know that to be true based on what I’ve heard from employees that have worked in establishments that serve liquor I’ve heard more than one waiter and waitress make that very comment that even though they did not like it and they didn’t like the image it projected to encourage people to drink alcohol, who did not want to or should not...

The food was really good but the service is comparable to a fast food chain and not a sit down restaurant. We were sat quickly but it took a while to put in our drink order. When the waitress came to take our drink order she started taking to another table which seemed to be friends of hers as they were talking about her hair. It took about 10 minutes to bring our drinks and about the same amount of time before we were even able to order food. The food came out quickly by a runner. The table to my right was upset when we got our food because they were never asked a food order and were there before us so they complained and left. Our waitress never checked on us after receiving our food order. We tried to get her attention but she never came over. The waitress even saw me using my hand to wipe my face and walked off so my husband went to the bar for napkins. We didn’t get offered refills on our drinks. A table to the left of us was sat and she was super chatty with them. After talking to them for what seemed like 10 minutes she finally came over to ask us if we were done but almost in a way like we were in the way. We said no and my husband asked for the check. In the middle of him asking for the check she started talking to the table to our left again. Then asked us if we wanted anything. My husband again said he just wanted the check and then she apologized for irritating him by talking to the other table. It was very awkward. She brought the check and my husband went to the bar to pay because she immediately walked off and we knew it would be a while before she came back. The bar tender gave the check to our waitress and made her ring him out. We have both worked as servers and know how difficult it can be and maybe our server was having a off night. Again, food was really good but the service...
