On Sunday, my sweetheart and I traveled to Savannah to redeem a gift card that we received from the Lady and Sons in July, 2023. We received this gift card because when we visited in June, 2023, the ceiling was leaking on our clothes, in our hair, and in our food. Approximately 9 months later on this past Sunday, we visited the Lady and Sons again. We traveled approximately 2 hours, so we were planning a beautiful day trip. We got to the Lady and Sons and although it was not crowded, we were directed to the 3rd floor; same as the last time even though the bottom level was not crowded. We ordered the Savannah, and this was our experience in our opinions of course: The lemonade as well as the Sweet Tea was extraordinarily sweet. They were so sweet until we both got glasses of water to weaken our drinks. However, it didn't help. The chicken was extremely salty and I also noticed this complaint in many of the other reviews. The pork chops were extremely salty. The pot roast tasted like an entire bottle of Worcestershire Sauce. The macaroni was dry. The corn was hard. OMG, we were amazed at how much of it was bad. The white rice that comes with the pot roast was acceptable. The lima beans were also acceptable. The vanilla cake was crumbling. From my experience, when a cake is crumbling and dry, it's old. Instead of writing a review, I called on Monday and spoke with Christopher. He apologized and assured me that he would forward all of the details to the General Manager. After 3 days, I called back. I was really surprised that after my extensive conversation with Christopher that I was not called back. (Christopher even told me that Paula was visiting the restaurant more often to ensure that the food was right.). When I called back 3 days later, I asked for Christopher. They said that he was in, but not available. I asked for the GM, and Ronnie came to the phone. I asked again for the GM and she told me that he would probably be back on Friday. We discussed my issues briefly and Ronnie asked me "what was I trying to get out of this?" Lord, I was done. In my opinion, I now understand why the lines are no longer around the corner to dine here. We were already dining with a gift card from a previous unpleasant experience here, and it got worse. In my opinion, obviously, they do not value us here. In my opinion, the GM doesn't make calls regarding unpleasant experiences, and in my opinion, Ronnie must have gotten it twisted and thought that I actually wanted something. I told Christopher during the original conversation that we simply didn't want to develop diabetes and high blood pressure during the course of one meal. I tried y'all, but they didn't care to further discuss the issue. I really wanted to ask the GM what's going on? I had a professor in college that would tell us the following: To be forewarned, is to be forearmed. My part is done.
