This Restaurant has been operating here by the same family since the 30s. If you like real homemade Italian dishes~ from the old family recipes ~ this restaurant will knock your socks off. From the Lasagna to the Spaghetti and Meatballs to the Garlic White Pizza ~ no other Italian restaurant compares. The atmosphere will take you back to another time when the railroad was running in the town and Frank was playin' on the radio. The prices are very reasonable too. .. It's fun to sit in the bar area where the bartender will tell you stories from that time if you just ask. They make super drinks and have great wine as well... I've been going here all my life and it's still my favorite Italian restaurant ever. :-)

The garlic pizza is otherworldly. And this place has Mary Lou, my favorite waitress ever. She's been there since 1987. They do accept cards now, but I think you have to tip in cash.

Mangialardo's of old was a great place for homemade italian food and a place that you could look forward to some very fine cuisine.

We were extemely disappointed with our dinner and remind readers to review the most recent postings and not postings of old.

We were served salads that were literally the white bottom of the head with absolutely no green lettuce at all. Instead they smothered it with dressing. Our party of 5 barely ate any of it.

We all got Italian dishes and it was very apparent it was reheated pasta via microwave and covered with off the shelf sauce. If you tipped your plate the sauce ran like water. Again, the 5 of us barely ate our entree and did not want to take any of it home

My mother who is 88 insisted on paying the bill and did not want me to make a fuss over the terrible food so she wasted around $120 (including tip which she never should have left) for meals that were only partially eaten. I am not sure but given what we ordered, they likely also had expensive prices for a beer and a glass of wine.

The waitress didn't even care that we didn't eat much of our salads, didn't eat much of our main course, and did not want to take anything home with us. Any decent restaurant would be concerned about their customers satisfaction and would perhaps adjust the bill or have the manager try and find out what was wrong.

I now understand why it was so easy to get a reservation for 5 on a Friday night at 6:00. There was only one other table of 2 in the dining room. What used to be a landmark or "hidden gem" in Sayre is now almost of poor fastfood style of Italian food. What used to be an evening of fine food is now a huge disappointment. From the time we got there to when we left was less than 45 minutes which should illustrate that this is no longer fresh cooked food but warmed up premade from the freezer, Do not go there, and do not believe older postings from the past. Review recent postings and go...

My husband and I made reservations for our first (and last visit). We couldn't find a hostess to be seated. After waiting ackwardly near the two entrances the owner approached us. We told him we had a reservation, he waved to an area with two empty tables and told us to sit over there. We sat at the table that was furthest away from the large party in the middle of the room. After we were sitted the owner came over and very loudly told us get up this table is already taken, sit over there. So we got up and moved to the table next to the huge party. We sat and waited at least 20 minutes before anyone came to ask us which drinks we would like. We had already looked at the menu and placed our order as well. We waited another 20 minutes for our sodas to arrive. Our salads and bread did not come with them. We waited a total of 40 min before those arrived. Then our dinners came out immediately. The whole time we were waiting other customers came in and received their food and drinks. The waitress was very apologetic, but the situation was extremely disappointing. While waiting we witnessed the owner treat his staff very poorly, constantly yelling and demeaning them. Our food was ok at best and there are many other (better) options for Italian in the valley. Even if the food had been excellent we would not return after witnessing the rude behavior...

Hands down the worst experience. We drive by this place often, so we decided to give it a try. We walk in and it’s so dark. Not very welcoming. We stood around for 10 minutes before we had to go look for someone to seat us. We all checked the menu. Our kids ordered their “nuggets” and fries. Which were more like chicken fingers. I went to go cut my 1 year olds chicken and the chicken was raw. The only thing cooked was the breading on the outside. We had told the waitress and she took them in the back. A short while later we heard screaming and yelling coming from the kitchen and some of the things that my family had to hear were awful. I’m embarrassed for them. Our family sat in fear thinking something bad was going to happen. We decided to order our kids spaghetti instead and the noodles were literally mush. As if they sat in water all day. At this point we just decided to pack up and leave. We waited for 25 minutes before anyone even came to us to give us our check. The manager acted as if he knew nothing was wrong and said “well I did take the chicken fingers off your bill”. To me, that was highly unprofessional and he really shouldn’t even be running a restaurant. I have never seen an owner/manager with such a lack of concern with something so serious. I will not recommend this...
