Business hours are till 8pm, I got in line at 7:28pm waiting to place my order with one customer before me and no one after me. When it’s my turn the cash register person tells me they stop taking orders at 7:30pm. Guess what, it was 7:32pm. Is this a joke?? I tell them I got in line before that and only then they agreed to take my order acting like they’re doing me a favor. Then after I already placed the order they ask if it’s takeout and I say no, I plan to eat at the restaurant (as grimy and unwelcoming it is with space for no more than 5 people to sit). And they tell me I can’t eat there. I replied I’ll be out of here by 8pm and they still refused. So what’s the point of saying your business hours are till 8pm? Totally incorrect and misleading. Is this even a serious establishment? I have nowhere else to eat the food so I promptly cancel the order and request to be refunded. Ridiculous and puzzling experience.
Response to the owner who replied to my review: as I said, they took my order and payment and ONLY THEN told me I can’t dine in. So what you said is factually wrong. If you have all these ridiculous nuances about your business hours, then you are not a serious establishment and regardless, you should put that information on Google and your website instead of expecting customers to “call before coming” (why on earth would anyone think to do that when it’s clearly within business hours). At the very least, put it on your front door so no one makes the mistake of stepping foot inside your restaurant just to deal with this nonsense. Better yet, just change your name to “Falafil Hut Takeout Only” to save customers the trouble since that’s what you seem to be. Instead of taking accountability, you went on a long tirade berating me for writing my honest review of your bad service. Either way, you have no right to be policing people on what they can and cannot write. All you did was make yourself look bad. Still, I wish you the best and hope that you will address these shortcomings in your service....
Read moreI’ve been to Falafil Hut a few times now, and while there’s a lot to love, there are definitely a few things to be aware of before you go.
First off, service can be slow. Even when you're quoted a time for your order, expect to wait a little longer than that. It’s not a deal-breaker, but definitely noticeable. Also, they tend to run out of some menu items earlier in the day, so if there’s something specific you’re craving, it’s better to order earlier rather than later.
The space inside is really small and can feel pretty cramped, so I’d recommend ordering to go if you’re not a fan of tight spots. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to hang out and eat if you're looking for a relaxed dine-in vibe. And with their limited hours, planning ahead is key.
Now, the good stuff — and there’s plenty. The food here is consistently tasty. I had the burger and tawa rice and both were flavorful, served warm, and the portions were generous for the price. A highlight for me is the garlic mayo — seriously good. I actually recommend mixing it into your tawa rice for an extra layer of flavor.
Another plus: there’s usually plenty of parking available right outside, which makes pickup super convenient.
Overall, while there are a few quirks to keep in mind, Falafil Hut delivers where it matters most — great food at a solid value. Just make sure to get your order in early and bring a little...
Read more10/9/16: I still go here often even though this is not on to my route to work now. The two guys working there have been great so far. I believe their name is yahseen and mehdi. They have provided great service. I do tell them to put extra cilantro on my food and they don't mind. There's no extra charge for this either thank goodness. Will continue to go here if the food and service is great. The foods taste is like no other place around it, that's is why I keep going there.
Past review: I accidentally came over here one day because I was going to the Chinese place right next door. My friend suggested he wanted to try middle eastern so I said let's just try this place because it's a cheap fast eat. After that first day, I just became addicted. I love the variety of food they have. They even have lamb, which I usually eat once I am tired of the regular american foods. Perhaps the most unique item they have is chicken/beef/lamb hummus. It's only $6.5 and will fill you up. Everything over here has a home made taste, which I appreciate once I'm tired of the chain restaurants. Lastly, everything in here is reasonably priced. My friends and relative have slowly became addicted to...
