I was excited to go here for lunch since I eat from the one in Hyde Park often. I place my order online. I entered and seen many orders in the pickup section. I asked the young lady for my order, it wasn’t bagged I asked for a bag and told her the order was made to go. She had a attitude and said “we only have big bags” ok fine it doesn’t matter I just need a bag, can’t walk out with all my items in my hand. I opened my salad to see little to no lettuce and the chicken was not the chicken I ordered, which was suppose to be blackened chicken. I also saw I had a half of cup of dressing. I asked the young lady about the chicken and also asked for more dressing. She said I’ll get the manager for your chicken issue and she gave me dressing and once again it was a half of a small cup and she didn’t put the lid on and had dressing all over the cup. I asked for paper towels to clean the dressing off my hands and she stated “it’s over there” and walked away. I waiting about 6 min and the manager finally came and asked what the issue was, I told him order was not correct and he stated “okay you’ll have to get in line for it to be remade” I didn’t have extra left on my lunch break so I told him I didn’t have time to wait in line and he said that’s the only way he can fix it. And I just walked out, because I ordered online for a pickup order so why should I have to wait in-line. I will never be back her , I will just go to the location in Hyde Park and bring it to work. And to think I told many of my co-workers about how good this place is based on the excellent one I been to, I thought they all will be that way, we will not return. This salad was small, not sure if they were running out of lettuce, but it was the same size of a Walmart salad. FYI EVERYONE IF YOU WANT TO EAT A GOOD SALAD AND RECEIVE GOID SERVICE GO TI THE ONE IN HYDE PARK-1500 East 53rd Street,...
Read moreSynopsis: Long waits, unavailable options, okay food,
I stopped in twice one weekend. The first time we were waiting in line for a good ten minutes, only for the staff to tell us they were out of chicken and steak. Someone yelled from the kitchen that steak and chicken would be another 30 minutes. Personally, a 40+ minute wait time is far too long for an assembly bar styled salad or protien bowl. The second time I went was the following day. We placed our orders and were asked about changes; there was no mention of any ingredients being out of stock. I opted to add mushrooms, to which I was told there was extra charge. When the bowl was moved further down towards the register, I asked why potatoes hadn't been added and one of the workers bluntly said "We're out." as if it were common knowledge. I was offered cold potatoes instead. I just find it strange that I wouldn't have been notified about an ingredient being unavailable and not offered a substitute, yet still charged for add-ons that would've been less than what was supposed to be included.
Online orders take high precedence over in-person orders. Two staff members seemed to be attached to the printer sending thriugh online orders while only one person was helping the people in line.
Staff seemed tired and short fused. They look like they needed more staff, more ingredients, better communication, and more breaks. Clearly better kitchen timing and communication about levels would be crucial. I don't doubt that some anti fatigue mats would help too.
The food is good. It still seems very pricy for what you're given if you're lucky to get everything you order. I will note that the 'hot' food was cold after a ten minute drive in a warm car.
I want to like this place and the food, but...
Read moreI like to try new restaurants and prefer the ones that offer healthier options and I was looking forward to this one as the options looked great and its really close to my job. I walked in at 8:05p, they close at 9pm. There was a long line with 8 people in front of me. Only 2 employees were serving food, one taking care of online orders and one the customers in line, while the other 5 were cleaning and getting ready to close. It took 25 minutes to get my turn and by then they had run out of some ingredients, one of the items I chose was supposed to have quinoa but had to settle for rice, not at all what I wanted and for the other item they couldn't be bother to cut some onion so again had to settle. I spoke to the manager to point out that it would be nice if they took care of the customers in line first, but he got defensive and didn't seem to care about the customers. I liked every ingredient in my food, it all had good flavor and I'm sure the food as a whole was good but it was cold and although the chicken had good taste, it was dry. I support trying to go home as soon as possible after a long day at work but not at the cost of paying customers. The 2 employees attending customers were great and were working hard while the rest walked around seeing the need and ignoring the customers. Clearly a bad management choice, they need to get their...
