I’ll be reviewing the restaurant as well as their event side of things.
First, the restaurant - I’ve eaten here a few times, always with great experiences. The sushi is great, the sweet chili salmon was great, and we’ve had almost all the appetizers which were all great. Good service, friendly staff, and a fun ambiance.
While the above would earn them a 4-5 star review on its own, their events coordinator and staff is where I would give them 20 stars if I could. My original plan for a wedding was to have our reception dinner at Westwood after getting married in a venue elsewhere. When my venue cancelled on me last minute, Amanda offered their fireplace room for the wedding ceremony. Best decision of our wedding! Amanda’s communication was prompt, enthusiastic, and helpful every time I reached out. The day of the event, she was a LIFESAVER!!! She coordinated with our officiant to move our guests quickly and efficiency from the fireplace room for the ceremony to the wine cellar room for the reception, she coordinated with our photographer to get different groups of family members in and out of the different rooms, and was just a very professional calming presence to make everything go off without a hitch! The best part was that she kept communicating with me constantly so I always knew what was next and kept the timeline on track. I honestly can’t express how thankful I am that Westwood has such a great person as their event coordinator. I also have to mention the banquet food - it’s not their regular menu but everything we had was AMAZING. People kept talking about how great the filet mignon was...I even dreamed about it later that night when my mind should have been on my new husband...
All that to say....want a great dinner? Go to Westwood. Want an amazing event? DO IT AT WESTWOOD!!!!
Thanks again, Sarah &...
Read moreWestwood Tavern is a good place to go. While this is not a Michelin Rated restaurant, they have some nice dishes.
This time we went, it was a business dinner. As such, I took no pictures of my food. You are going to have to trust me that the presentation was nice. There were about a dozen of us at a long table. Long tables can be difficult to hold conversations at, but no round tables are available there.
First, we ordered drinks. I tried something I hadn't had before, Angels Envy Rye. I probably wouldn't have gotten this one if we went by ourselves, but since the company was picking up the tab... I'm going to splurge on a bottle.
Appetizers: We ordered three for the table. There were two orders of nachos, one vegetarian and the other with Chicken. Since I can't have anything with cheese, I skipped these. They disappeared quickly without me. We made sure to order Guacamole so I could have something. It was bland, like mashed avocado with tomatoes. Nevertheless, it was good.
We had a variety of meals: I opted for the Sweet Chili Salmon. It came with green beans and rice. There were no milk products or Gluten. It was very good. The fish was a little overcooked, but not badly. With so many people, we had a variety of entrees, and I didn't get comments from the others at our party. Everyone seemed happy with their meals.
This is a great place if you want something slightly upscale with a wide selection of meals. I would give them three stars, except they did an excellent job ensuring my food allergies were safe. They get an extra star for that.
Thanks for being so...
Read moreI attended a quinceañera at this venue this past weekend, and I have to say — the level of disorganization and lack of professionalism from the management and staff was truly disappointing.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the supervisors and waiters were completely out of sync. The supervisors, who were supposed to be managing the event, were visibly overwhelmed and uncoordinated, which only created more confusion for the already disoriented wait staff. The entire service team looked like they had never worked together before — there was visible bickering among them and plenty of negative facial expressions throughout the night that didn’t go unnoticed by guests.
At one point, things got so bad that a waiter dropped an entire tray of champagne on my father and several other guests around him. Not a single person — not the waiter, not a supervisor — offered an apology. They just moved on like nothing happened. That kind of disregard is unacceptable.
Look, I understand large events can be hectic. But when guests are clearly noticing the dysfunction, tension, and carelessness of the staff, it’s a major problem. Event service should never feel this chaotic or unprofessional.
The only saving grace of the night? The bartenders. They were friendly, focused, and attentive from start to finish. Honestly, they deserve all the credit for keeping the night afloat.
If the management at this venue wants to keep hosting important events like quinceañeras, they seriously need to reevaluate their training, staffing, and leadership. Right now,...
