I have no idea what was going on the day I visited this restaurant but I’m certain they didn’t want people like me there so people like me won’t ever return or spend my hard earned money! To walk in a restaurant and be seated then have to wait for 20-30 minutes to get so much as cup of water is insane. I don’t know if the waitress we had was slow, being nice nasty on purpose, if she just didn’t want to be at work, or it was her first day on the job! I would give y’all a name, but she never gave us her name. But I can describe her. She had curly hair, clothes that did not fit properly and wore glasses. For certain she was far more engaged with what was going on in the back of the restaurant more than her customers because she stayed going to the back. When we finally got her to take our drink order, it took her 10 minutes to bring out water and a margarita. Not to mention that was the only cup of water we could have eating Mexican food! Finally our food comes out by a gentleman who was by far the most courteous and professional and noticed we didn’t even have silverware to eat our food with or straws to drink our drinks nor napkins to wipe our hands and got them for us. The food was subpar. The last time I visited this restaurant it was amazing which is why I came back to visit. Finally the icing on the cake was that wack waitress not bringing me a cup of water after I’d asked her twice before I’d left. Here’s the kicker, she actually acknowledged she didn’t get me the water and proceeded to go about her way to get the check coming back with no water!!!! She brings the check to us and follows me to the register to make sure I tipped. Because I don’t believe in not tipping people who’s job depends on it, is the only reason I left a tip! But it was the lowest tip by far. Needless to say, I’ll never be back here to eat and will definitely warn family and friends!!! Whoever manages this restaurant really need to have a long talk with your staff and help them realize all customers won’t be as calm as I was at the time. Due to the fact that I was there for lunch with my daughter helped me to exhibit constraint to cause a scene, not to mention I would have been the one singled out as the problem. And another thing, TURN THAT MUSIC DOWN A LITTLE!!! It was cranked up at 3:00 in the afternoon...

After being seated for roughly 25 minutes without being waited on, my boyfriend and I, who were with our 7 yr. old son for dinner (around 6:15 p.m. Sunday), decided to leave. Upon arriving, we were seated promptly as there was no waiting for a table. Great! However, we were given a far back-in-the-corner-table in the back room which should've been our first clue dinner wasn't going to be had at this restaurant. We were seated with menus, chips, and salsa. Our table was missing the salt shaker (which we needed), but more importantly, we weren't given ANY PLATES, SILVERWARE, NAPKINS OR WATER!!! Fine. We waited. Even after salsa was dropped on 2 menus. And we waited. For sure someone would be by to come get our drink orders and our appetizer orders, at the very least, right? WRONG!! NO ONE EVER CAME TO CHECK ON US, BRING US ANYTHING, OR TAKE OUR ORDER FOR ANYTHING!!! IN FACT, WHEN WE WERE ABLE TO FLAG A WAITER DOWN AND BRING IT TO HIS ATTENTION THAT NO ONE HAD WAITED ON US YET, HE SAID HE WOULD LET THEM (UP FRONT) KNOW IMMEDIATELY. ALMOST 7 MINUTES LATER AND STILL NO ONE CAME. It was a waste of almost half and hour. If i could give less than 1 ⭐, I would.
I thought for sure La Carreta was in the service industry, the restaurant industry, the food and beverage industry... IS IT NOT?!? OR IS IT THAT SOME PEOPLE'S MONEY JUST ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR THIS RESTAURANT???!!?? Idk. I truly don't know. Highly disappointed in what seems to be a well-known and popular establishment, but after tonight's less than even mediocre act, not sure if we will ever support them as a local business again. IT'S LIKE THEY DIDN'T EVEN TRY. When we notified the manager that we were leaving, he looked very sheepish and apologized...and then offered us a table in the front of the restaurant! SMH. My name isn't Rosa Parks. My bf told him no and walked out, I stayed back to let him know everything from beginning to end was BS and I'd be putting it in my review.
Sorry for being lengthy, but all of it...
Read moreThis is by far one of my favorite Mexican Restaurants but sometimes the inconsistency is a real let down. I was brought to this establishment for a date over 4 years ago. Back then, we only had mixed frozen drinks but they were good. About 2 years later, my sister brought me and they’ve been my favorite since College. Their Nachos and anything Fajita is great and everyone whom Ive brought has loved them.... for the most part... The most part comes to play when its a busy day. When they’re busy, and it’s always when I bring someone who’s only available on a Friday or Saturday night, we ALWAYS get forgotten about. We always have to hunt down our server and our order is always shy from perfect. Shy, not just because our server forgot a modification like no tomatoes or to add sour cream. But, also because the flavor also isnt there on those days. It’s like we wait extra long for a 10 minute meal and it’s not as good as it is on the days I come alone or when they’re less busy. But to be clear, even on those days, the food is still by far better than other restaurants I’ve had. If I had never had them before, then I’d deem them like the rest and just okay. (Thats the sad part because they’re better than okay!) I’ve tried looking past such on the busy days but if on the 4 times I came when they were busy, I’m able to tell a difference in the quality of food too and not just the service, its a problem.
Other than when they’re really busy on weekend nights, every other time has been great. The Hosts are friendly and sweet, almost all the servers are great and attentive. The food is good and seasoned well on those slower days and my drinks are allwaaayys amazing regardless. Even with the not so great days, I’d still recommend them. I’m still going to eat and spend my money here, and I’ll still be telling people about...
