Very nice atmosphere. We took 2 seats at bar while waiting on our table which wasn’t bad. The bar tender was very nice and professional and attentive. We both ordered a drink and one appetizer. Finally table was ready and the waitress was ok. The bar tender was more friendlier though. My man had the pork chops and mashed potatoes he said it was good. I had the ribeye well done baked potatoes and the shrimp over the bed of rice. The food was ok. Steak kinda hard to cut and yes I know it was well done but i get well done all the time and it’s never as tough as that steak was on top of that it was a bit salty. After we left and was on the way home i started to feel sick. Longhorn was the only food I had eaten so i know it was from there. I had high hopes for this place but I should of just went to Theos like we started. I’m usually open to giving place another chance I’m not to sure about this place. My stomach still doing flips and it’s 13 hrs later 🤦🏽♀️ 6/21/23 So I called in on Saturday the day after to speak to a manager about my sickness. I spoke to Daniel and he was nice but not a good problem solver. I didn’t ask for a refund or nothing for free I simply wanted them to know that I was sick and I know it came from them. He didn’t offer any type of refund which again that’s not why I called and I told him I was not seeking a refund. He did apologize but was very quick with me on the phone as of he really didn’t know what to say. He did offer gift cards that I can use at different restaurants after I assured him I will not be returning to that location. He ask for my email address which I had to repeat 3 times for him to get it correct and it’s not a complicated email. He claimed he needed it to send me gift cards but I have not received anything from Longhorn Steakhouse in Sherrillville Indiana as of 6/21/23 and this phone call was made on 6/17/23. It does not take days to send and receive a email. I will be calling back today to speak to Daniel or maybe someone above him. Why offer gift cards if you not going to send them. Oh let me not forget he did offer to pay any medical bill I get if I needed to go to a ER. I also declined as I have insurance and all that wasn’t necessary but imagine if I did go to ER and took my bill to Daniel. He didn’t send the gift card via email so maybe I was going to also be stuck with a ER bill if I needed him to be in charge of that. 6/22/23 so after I put them on blast for not sending the gift card I finally got $25.00 gift card via...
Read moreI went to LongHorn Steakhouse in Schererville, IN, and after placing a to-go order, I was informed they were out of bread. Disappointed but understanding, I accepted it. I was told my order would take 20-25 minutes. While waiting, I noticed two young ladies at the bar enjoying drinks (keep this in mind). I decided to head to Lowe’s next door to grab a few items.
Within the promised timeframe, I received a call that my order was ready. I returned to pick it up, only to notice something baffling—there was bread! However, when I checked my bag, no bread was included. I asked the hostess for bread, and her response was, “We don’t have any at this time.” Interestingly, the two ladies at the bar had two loaves of bread each. Naturally, I questioned how there could be no bread available for me when it was clearly present. Her explanation? “Take-out orders don’t have priority for bread.” Excuse me?
I asked for the manager, and Mandy arrived. Before she came out, though, I saw a waiter bringing bread to a table. I calmly explained the situation to Mandy, only for her to insist they were out of bread. As bread continued to be served around us, she doubled down, saying there was none available. By this point, it wasn’t about the bread but the principle—why was I being told something so blatantly untrue? I asked for a refund, explaining my frustration. This was nearly a $60 order! I even questioned if losing the sale was worth avoiding providing what was part of my order. Mandy stood firm, claiming the bread at the servers' stations was reserved for dine-in tables.
I remained my composed, requested a refund and corporate’s number. Mandy remained respectful and complied without issue. Then Patty, another manager, came out to finalize the refund but offered no acknowledgment or solution to the situation.
I drove to the Merrillville location to get my order, bread included. The service & food...
Read moreWe are so done with Longhorn. We quit them years ago because of poor service and food not cooked to order, that occurred on more than one occasion. We got a gift card for them on Christmas and decided to go for an early dinner (4pm) at the the new location in Schererville and give them one more try. Our wait was 45 minutes and when we get to the table we see it's in a a busy location, plus we wanted a booth. We asked the young woman seating us if we could get a booth and she says there is none available. I'm counting at least half a dozen empty booths just on one side. I point this out and she says they're not available. Another young woman comes over and asks what's wrong. So we tell her we don't want to sit in this area and would like a booth. She proceeds to tell us that there are no booths available and all the empty booths are empty because there is not a server assigned. Okay, so now we know that. The issue is this second young lady had a nasty tone of voice and spoke to us in a condescending way. So now we are totally aggravated too. She says we can get you a booth but you have to wait longer until one is free. As we are talking about this a couple gets up and leaves a booth. I say okay, we will wait for that booth. To which we are told. "You can't have that booth because there's not a server for it". What? You just had people leave who were just served so there must be a server. So she then changes her story and tells us we can't have that booth because they already gave it to someone. Not true because they hadn't even started cleaning it off. We left. My husband said how could he trust them with his food when employees are allowed to act like this young lady was acting. They might spit in it. No more. We will use this gift card at Olive Garden or somewhere and make sure and tell our family to NEVER get us another gift card...
