I haven't been to Whataburger in forever, but my kids and I were out running errands. It was late afternoon so I had to stop for the kids to eat. I was not too impressed with the cashiers customer service, but she is lucky I have a lot of patience. I respond by showing them how they should be providing customer service with a genuine smile. I noticed her leave for the day as we waited for our meal, but I have to say that customer service is provided all the way even after you walk out the door... at least it is what should be expected. So we received our meals and it looked great. I took a picture because at this point I was still willing to overlook the lack of customer service skills. I also had requested a side of mayo that never came. It wasn't a big deal, but if you aren't going to follow thru... don't ask if we need anything else. Well, I was obviously hungry because I was almost halfway done with my burger when I noticed the patty was pink. I prefer my meat cooked, so I stopped eating. My kids were done eating their kids meals, so I decided to just get ready to head out. I took the burger up to the cashier, and explained to her yet again expecting some type of customer service experience... but her response was a simple ok. She was going to blow me off to attend another employee at the register. I asked her if she wanted to inform her manager so it can be addressed and she said no, it's ok she will believe me when I tell her. I'm thinking wow. Just then my kids came back from trying to use the restroom, and my eldest said they could not use the facilities because one toilet would not flush and the other was terribly dirty. I repeated what she was stating outloud still at the register, but still no apologies or any acknowledgements from the cashier... nor did she get the manager. I sadly have to say we left not very impressed at all. I would have liked to say otherwise because I went in looking to provide good notes on our visit....
Read moreBased on recent reviews, this seems to be a common trend lately. My wife and I are done with this Whataburger, absolutely horrible on every level!! We hardly eat at this Whataburger due to issues in the past, but on the way home from the airport late this evening we were hungry, what a mistake!
First off, the additional lane added for drive thru is a complete joke!! They have you order and merge into one lane instead of using the dual lanes that have been there all along. It’s like they are literally too lazy to walk out to the second lane to give people their food/order. It did NOT increase efficiency AT ALL as we still waited almost 30 minutes for our food. My wife and I are simple we like our burgers plain and dry, super easy to make, but this location somehow always messes it up, and they did again tonight!
So, we get home, hungry and excited to eat with hopes that they managed to somehow get order correct. Yes, I told myself I should have checked before leaving, and should have listened. As I’m getting luggage out my wife has unpacked food, I smell onions and mustard so I know they messed up. Both orders completely wrong, cold as hell, and at this point I’m just infuriated.
We will be sticking to LITERALLY every other food joint in the area except this ridiculous joke of a restaurant. I’m shocked they have managed to maintain a 4+ star rating (as of this post) because they truly have been a 1 star location for a long time. Hey management, do yourself a favor and drive through ANY Chick-fil-A in the country and take some pointers. Truly is a sad ordeal, as I use to love Whataburger. I ordered my food with the cashier Levi. I am assuming that was his name because that’s what the receipt says. I asked him what was on the BBQ bacon burger and he told me he wasn’t sure.
I waited 30 minutes for my food just to get a cold burger and fries. After 20 minutes I asked Levi to check on my order. His first response was its coming right out without even checking. Then I told him he could check because my order was at 20 minutes. He walks to fry station only to disappear somewhere in the back. After 5 minutes I asked the other cashier to check on my food and my food had been sitting at the fry station getting cold.
There were two management staff on board. But never did either of them get off board to go check on front counter or help with fry station. Fry station was really backed up with several orders just dying because of fry station. It doesn’t matter how fast the food is being made on board if it’s only going to have to wait for fríes.
Also I heard several times fry station call out to front counter for food that was done but the front counter people were to busy to help deliver their orders. There needs to be more communication from front counter and fry station. Orders shouldn’t just sit there because a team member not assigned to front counter doesn’t want to take out the food.
