My first time experience at the Magnolia Pancake Haus:
After being notified by a text message system your table is a most ready after 45 minutes you are then surprised by having to check in to the restaurant two times. Once to a front desk and a second time to a “booth.”
You have five minutes to check in to the booth after you have checked into the front desk, this defeats the purpose of checking into the front desk. While you’re waiting behind multiple parties 5 minutes elapsed and you’re told that you missed the 5 minute deadline to check in to the booth. They won’t pay attention to you because they’re busy trying to accommodate everyone else that is currently checking in. They even tell you that you have to wait for a table again as you missed the 5 minute deadline.
I was waiting in line and even had a family cut me off before I got to the booth after I had been waiting in line. It appears like if you don’t know what you’re doing and haven’t been here before you’re out of luck.
Please note that they don’t have a designated seating area inside. People just wait around in the lobby that are waiting for a table, hence the reason why there are so many people just scattered everywhere, it’s complete chaos when it’s busy and trust me no one wants to wait outside in this 90 degree weather.
Additionally, if you have a reservation for 4 or 5 and only 3 are here they do not allow for the rest of your party to join you or allow for you to add additional guests even if you have the space in your table.
After we sat down, I ordered water and a large lemonade. It was disclosed to me that they had ran out of Large glasses and our waitress proceeded to give me the lemonade in a disposable cup. I was incredibly confused and couldn’t believe I had just been handed a disposable cup.
My waitress seemed to be all over the place as well. After I placed my order I waited for about 30-40 minutes for my food. My waitress only seemed to care about the customers that had food on their table because she never came back to check on us, just kept rushing by. I ran out of water and had to ask another server for assistance.
I should have ordered out of the breakfast menu because the lunch menu I ordered out of was terrible. I ordered a Bacon Avocado Burger and tried their Cubano sandwich as well. This must have been the greasiest bun and saltiest burger, sandwich I’ve ever had.
Kids Meal was $5.25, this only included the 3 mini pancakes and one strip of bacon, everything else could be added additional price. This kids meal is subpar to what I have ordered in other brunch locations.
This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a restaurants and this the reason why I’m posting this. I detest publishing any negative reviews but this location deserves it. I wouldn’t go back or...
Read moreWe've been wanting to try this place for a while, and finally made it out on a Sunday. It was packed! We waited 1 hour and 15 min. We assumed it must be good if that many people keep coming and going and for a wait to be that long! So we waited it out.
When we finally got seated, we were asked about drinks. Those came quick, then we ordered food shortly after. Our waiter was nice, and answered any questions. I wish their menu had photos of their food, I think it would help people to know what to expect. I wasn't as excited as I thought I would be. The kids plates came with 3 mini pancakes with a side of choice (1 egg or 1 bacon, or chips I believe) sooo basic and plain. And according to the kids menu, it looks like the drinks are included because there wasn't any price next to the drink part. But they charged us extra for the drinks. Oh well, live and learn lol. Husband ordered a burger, looked great and he loved it. Probably the best thing out of our order! Kids were okay with theirs... pancakes were good. I ordered the eggs Benedict. It was super plain, didn't look as good as the menu describes it. Came with side of pancakes. The eggs Benedict also had no flavor! Super bland and the meat was not warm, bread was toasted like a rock, and sauce was bland. I'm not one to get disappointed so quickly, but I guess I had high expectations for them based on the menu descriptions and the positive reviews.
As we were leaving, we could hear of another guy complaining and saying he would never come back, and I saw him talk to 2 people and each time it's like he was brushed off and not a big deal to them, the girl behind the counter was grumbling about him to another Co worker right in front of us as we were leaving.. Kind of sad. Customer service was okay I guess. The servers in our area were nice and kind and quick in their service. The resturaunt itself was clean, and kept up. And the bathrooms were pretty clean too! I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars because I would like to try it again sometime. Overall it was okay, but to me personally didn't live up...
Read moreWe visited here the other day in hopes of it living up to the good hype we’ve heard but it was terribly disappointing. We first got sat to a sticky table, and started off with “fresh squeezed” orange juice that tasted like it came from a carton, hebs orange juice taste more fresh than that. On top of that, my glass had lipstick on it (I was not wearing lipstick) I alerted the server and she was kind enough to give me a new one but explained lipstick requires extra scrubbing (yes it does and it should have been done prior to serving a guest) however I was simply to disgusted to even drink my remake glass.
My partner ordered the avocado bacon burger and quite frankly it tasted subpar lacking flavor all around and quite dry, unfortunately the only good thing about the burger was the bun and that is a stretch. Definitely not worth $14
I ordered the bananas foster pancakes with a side of hash browns and the pancakes is what saved the day but barely. I should’ve have just got the plain pancakes because I’m not sure if this place knows what bananas foster even is. The hash browns arrived to the table looking stale as if it’s just been sitting out under a warmer for a while and unfortunately it showed in the taste as well. Hash browns are a staple breakfast item and to mess something as simple as that up says a lot, because these has browns were the blandest things I have ever tasted! It’s as if seasoning doesn’t exist in this place, even something as simple as salt and pepper.
When it was time to pay the nice lady at the stand asked us if everything was alright and we informed her it was not. She was kind enough to take off our lipstick stained orange juice even though in my opinion that should have been done by the server.
I was highly disappointed in my experience here and I’m not sure how this place receives the hype it does, but please save yourself the trip here and eat literally any where else, unless you’re okay with flavorless bland...
