McDonald's — Restaurant in Scotch Plains

You know McDonald's, this is a McDonald's. If you pull up hours on your phone it's listed as opening at 5:30am but it's actually 6am.

Kind of funny but I pulled up at exactly 5:30 am for a cup of coffee after viewing the operating hours on my phone.

I can remember when was the last time I was the first customer at a fast food restaurant but here I was.

The menu's were lit up and working and I knew to pull to the second menu because the first menu is almost never used.

When I got to the second menu it told me to pull up again, to the window I assumed. It was 5:30 so maybe this is how they roll.

At the payment window I waited to a gentleman appeared moving some boxes and I tried to sign language him 'are you open'? I don't know sign language and I assumed he didn't either and he awkwardly flashed me six fingers while he also had something balanced under his elbow.

Ok great, six minutes, I'll wait.

I waited what I thought was about six minutes and the guy appeared again and then left again.

This was getting long I thought, do I really need this coffee?

Then it struck me like a message from God, his six finger flash through the window meant 6am and not 5:30 am which is listed with googles search pages for this location.

I saw another customer who bumped into the front door a few times trying to gain entry. He kept trying to get that door open but clearly it was locked.

It's all making sense now. This McDonald's doesn't open at 5:30am it opens at 6am - but wait - there's more - the drive through opens at 6am but the walk-in access to the restaurant doesn't open until 8am I believe.

I don't know what time they close but it is not midnight, it might be 11pm...

I was in a really bad accident yesterday at an intersection near this location. Afterwards, my daughter and I walked from the accident to this McDonalds so I we could be picked up (car was totalled). As everything I had was in my car, including a mask, I knocked on the window and asked them if they could take my order. Instead, they got a mask for me and my daughter. Very friendly throughout the entire discussion. I ordered a water and fries for my daughter, and we went back outside to eat. In an incredibly nice gesture, the workers made a happy meal for my daughter and brought it outside to her. I am very grateful for your generosity. Really...

There is an employee here named Ronan. He is by far the best, and has given the best quality service I've ever seen in any fast food chain, let ALONE McDonalds.

He put my fries in the bag, and made my order with such speed and precision, that I thought it had to be the work of Ronald himself.

My experience didn't end there. RONAN also allowed me to refill my beverage after I was done, which I believe added to my exquisite experience because why buy another cup when mines still good?
