Barro's Pizza — Restaurant in Scottsdale

I Ordered a pizza and some wings today via Doordash app for delivery. The order delivery link on their website goes to Doordash. Unfortunately, Doordash does not offer up a way to get half toppings (in my case half pep and half cheese) No problem, I'll order whole large pie pepperoni and leave a comment about the half topping request "this restaurant does not accept comments" Ok, I'll have to call. So I Check out and immediately call the restaurant to tell them to only put the pepperoni on half the pizza. The manager (I think he said his name is Nick) got on and told me "they could not modify the order. They had to make it exactly how it came in."

huh? I'm not asking to change modify what was ordered or change the amount so keep trying.. "I just want pepperoni on half. I'm asking for half the ingredient I paid for."

"No, we have to do it exactly how it came in."

"Can you put the whole order of pepperoni on half the pizza?"

"No, we have to do it exactly how it came in."

They had not made the pie yet but still wouldn't budge. I feel like he was more annoyed that the system did not allow for half topping pies and he was just making a point of it by not budging on my minor request.

So I then get on with Doordash support to cancel the order. Doordash customer service called the restaurant and spoke with the manager.. still "nope" Doordash tried to make it right by knocking off the delivery fee and tip but then the driver gets hosed so I kept the order.

I've been ordering from this Barros for many many years. After this ridiculous encounter? ...

I am writing this review to extol the virtues of Barrow Pizza and their delicious pizzas. My family and I have been ordering from this establishment for years, and we have never been disappointed.

One of the things we love most about Barrow Pizza is their wide selection of pizzas. Whether we're in the mood for a classic pepperoni or something more adventurous like their BBQ chicken pizza, there is always something on the menu to suit our tastes. The crust is always crispy and the toppings are fresh and flavorful.

We also appreciate the wing special and the variety of wing flavors available. The wings are always cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. And the sauces are always delicious, with a range of options to choose from.

Another thing we love about Barrow Pizza is the convenience of ordering online for pick-up. We often order on Friday nights and it's great to be able to grab a quick and delicious meal without having to cook. The staff are always friendly and helpful when we pick up our order.

This location is run by high school students. They were nice when you'd come to the counter to order but when you'd sit down to eat you could hear them goofing off in the back, even from all the way across the restaurant. I'm talking yelling, loud laughing, complaining about the homework they'd be going home to that night and having to work their shift. Oddly enough the adult on duty, which I assume was the manager, did nothing about this. Maybe so he could get a taste of being a kid again? No matter, professionalism needs to be learned at some point and if you're going to be loudly goofing off at your place of work maybe don't do it when customers are trying to enjoy their meal. Most of the sodas in the soda fountain were either out or low on syrup, one of the stalls in the women's restroom had no toilet paper, overall not a great look for the chain.

The food was decently good. The crust on the pizza was nice and fluffy, though I'm almost certain they subbed the 'spicy barbecue sauce' on the Spicy Southwest pizza for regular BBQ as there wasn't a hit of spice. The traditional wings were pretty small which isn't their fault but I'd keep that in mind...
