Two of my friends hosted their birthday dinner here; we made reservations for 7:30 on a Saturday night and appreciated the fact that we could sit down without having the entire party present like some places.
The restaurant wasn’t too crowded inside but the parking lot was packed full. Maybe because there are other restaurants bunched around it? I don’t know, but I had to park in the back of the Trader Joe’s parking lot after circling the restaurant’s parking lot lol.
My friends had bought professionally made cakes to take photos with (and to eat after dinner of course) and the servers offered to keep them in the fridge for us while we ate dinner! So nice of them! Speaking of our servers, they made the night better. We had at least two or three the entire night - our party had at least 10 people) and they were always attentive and chatting with us. The main guy was definitely a chatty Kathy but he could tell from our vibes that we didn’t mind him talking to us like friends. Some other reviews mention the servers not really showing face or not refilling waters, but our server refilled waters even as the restaurant was about to close, so we didn’t experience that problem.
On to the food and drinks: very good! The wine, beer, and cocktails did take a hot minute to come out, but at least every drink came out at once. My friends loved their espresso martinis!
For appetizers, we ordered the deviled eggs, crispy calamari, and the spinach artichoke dip. Everything was super flavorful. I loved how the deviled eggs were jam-packed and how the filling was squeezed inside with almost like a cool frosting tip - it wasn’t your average deviled egg lol. The filling was also really tasty, you could taste every component, for sure.
The main entrees were salmon and rice, braised short ribs and mashed potatoes, and the chicken parmesan. Long story short: everyone loved everything. The mashed potatoes were creamy, the ribs were very tender, the salmon was seasoned nicely, and the chicken was definitely taken off the heat at the exact right time. Also, the chicken parmesan portion was quite large; lots of noodles (it should be for $34!)
Once we were finished eating, the servers grabbed our cakes from the fridge and they even offered to light the candles for us. Needless to say, it was a great night and everyone enjoyed our meal here! Definitely out of my price range, but it was for a...
Read moreI was very pleasantly surprised! Most pleasantly surprised! This has got to be one of the better-quality brunches both in eats and customer experience available in the Valley. I was intrigued recently by looking over Paul Martin’s menu and discovered they offered refined brunches! Not having tried their brunch offerings, off we were to try them out. First and foremost, their interior offers an exceptional discreet elegance, not foregoing any seating comfort, whether at the bar, booth or tables. The ambience is modestly refined yet exceptionally classy. The din is comforting whereas you can actually have a conversation without being one being loud or obnoxious! The relaxing music in the background was contemporary yet soothing. While making decisions of how to brunch ourselves, we ordered the “all you can drink Mimosas”. Out of the likes of such delectable and extensive looking menu items (making it problematic to select) like Avocado Toast, a New York Steak & Eggs, the Grill Benedict, the formidable Crab Benedict, southwestern style Chilaquiles, a southern style Buttermilk Chicken and Waffle, and good old all American Hangover Burger, or their nouvelle style Brioche French Toast… my Wife decided on Paul's Omelette: with mouthwateringly perfect applewood bacon, tender and tasty fresh mushrooms, tomato, spinach, red onions, white cheddar, well prepared breakfast potatoes, a fab cheddar biscuit, and some fresh fruits, and I went for the Seafood Omelete with terrific perfectly prepared cage-free eggs, sumptuous white cheddar, delicate and fresh sauteed spinach, topped with roasted tomatoes, succulent shrimp, lip-smacking lobster, and an extremely well prepared house made bearnaise sauce (this bearnaise is as good as it gets, and its quality is hard to come by in the Valley), fresh fruit and all served with a style of brunch potatoes I had naught experienced before. The preparation of their brunch potatoes is unique and exquisite – I wish I had the recipe (can you let us know?). We are fans, Yay! Looking forward to our next brunch and all those other magnificent offerings… kudos, well done, and...
Read more📌... It is with great disappointment that I write this review and ADVISE ALL BLACK WOMEN NOT TO DINE AT THIS LOCATION!!
Had a reservation this past Saturday for a group of 8 friends visiting from out of state for a birthday celebration. Although it's to be expected that most restaurants are indeed busy on weekends, we were able to book a same day reservation.
We were seated, server took our drink and food orders in a timely manner.. however we noticed SEVERAL other large parties and tables receiving their food while we continued to wait. After about 20-25 mins we were told (not apologized to or explained) that their kitchen was "backed up"
I have frequented Paul Martin's in many other states, and although I live here in Arizona now this was my first and last time!! The service was absolutely disappointing and as we approached what was almost an hour wait for our food, we then decided to pay for our cocktails and leave.
The General Manager offered to comp the drinks to which we declined, still offered no apology for what now is blatant discrimination; but then had the audacity to say "now leave". Not only was this in poor judgment, but highly inappropriate considering the environment.
I am embarrassed that my friends experienced what many have warned us about at this location and the fact that I live here knowing there are literally over 100 choices for dining options makes this even more unacceptable!!!
We ended up going to another restaurant where we were treated with respect, kindness, served properly and enjoyed the type of meal we are not only used to... but deserve!
Hopefully the Martin Group will take these reviews seriously and address our server Jake, the Black Manager that we told did not receive our food and she did nothing to get it to us and the General Manager that told us we can "now leave" and train them on serving ALL PEOPLE and treating them with respect, professionalism and basic dignity!!!
So unfortunate because of the location and ambiance... but...
