Indibar was the highlight of my food adventure during my trip to AZ. What made it even more memorable was the opportunity to chat with some of the wonderful people who helped bring this restaurant to life. The concept has been in the works for many years, and it was wonderful to see that dream finally come to reality. Being able to connect with the people here really gave a "mom-and-pop" feel, but with a modern, chic twist.
I loved how they put a modern spin on Indian cuisine, while still staying true to its authentic flavors—without falling into the trap of trendy fusion. The ambiance is sleek and stylish, from the art deco to the specially curated menu and crafted drinks. It definitely stands out from the standard spots, though I have room in my heart for all places with delicious food, whether it's street food in India or the local gems I love to visit. This is the perfect place for a special occasion or a romantic night out. Plus, the private room looks stunning.
You can’t go wrong with any of the meat dishes. The lamb shank and beef cheek were slow-cooked and —so tender that you’ll be hearing “Love Me Tender” in your head. The butter chicken and shrimp curry will put a smile on your face and make your hips shimmy like you’re the next Indian pop star. The Pina Colada dessert was so beautiful that I almost didn’t want to break into it—but I’m glad I did! It was tasty and satisfying, and I’m not even a big dessert person.
I tried several cocktails, and my favorite by far was the one with infused guava. You’ll just have to order a few yourself to find out which one I’m talking about. My advice? Get there soon before it gets too busy! I can’t wait to go back and try all the other dishes.
Sorry, no food photos. Busy eating everything up!

Read moreFrom the moment we stepped into Indibar, it was evident that this was going to be an extraordinary dining experience. The atmosphere radiates warmth and sophistication, setting the stage for what would become one of the most memorable meals we have ever enjoyed. The service was seamless—attentive without ever being intrusive—guided by a team that clearly takes pride in both hospitality and detail.
The evening began with cocktails that could only be described as liquid artistry. Each drink was crafted with precision, beautifully balanced in flavor, and presented with an elegance that rivaled the finest mixology lounges. They set the perfect tone for the culinary journey that followed.
What came next can only be described as a revelation. Course after course of Indian cuisine arrived, each plate more exquisite than the last. The flavors were bold yet refined, layered with complexity, and executed with impeccable technique. It was not merely a meal, but a masterclass in how traditional flavors can be elevated into a fine-dining experience without losing their authenticity. We agreed, without hesitation, that it was the best Indian cuisine we have ever tasted.
And just when we thought the evening could not reach a higher note, the dessert arrived—a masterpiece in its own right. Decadent, intricate, and flawlessly plated, it was the kind of dish that lingers in your memory long after the last bite. Truly a show-stopping finale to a remarkable evening.
Indibar is not just a restaurant; it is a destination. It embodies the rare balance of impeccable service, innovative craft, and culinary excellence that transforms dining into an experience. Without question, this is a place we will return to...
Read moreIndibar is a great addition to the evolving Indian dining scene in Phoenix. The interiors are beautifully designed—more polished and intentional than other elevated Indian restaurants like Peacock or Feringhee. It’s modern, warm, and feels like a proper night-out spot.
The menu stands out for its creativity. As someone familiar with Indian cuisine, I appreciated that it goes beyond the typical butter chicken and naan, while still being approachable for new diners.
We started with the Chorizo Pao and Murgh Khatta Pyaaz Kulchette, and both were fantastic. The chorizo dish felt like a twist on pav bhaji, while the kulchette looked and tasted like an Indian flatbread pizza. Easily the highlight of the night.
For drinks, I liked their espresso martini, but my partner found it too boozy. She didn’t enjoy the mango lassi either—it lacked the sweetness and flavor we’ve had at other places.
For mains, we had the Pork Ribs Vindaloo with Lachha Paratha and Jowar Roti. This was the low point. The ribs had very little meat and were hard to eat with the breads. The paratha didn’t have the flakiness we expected, and the jowar roti was just okay.
Dessert was a big comeback. The Pina Colada was a fun and beautifully presented dish—basically a deconstructed cocktail in edible form with a molded coconut chocolate. Really impressive.
Service didn’t quite meet expectations for the $150 bill for two. It took 15 minutes to place our order, and the table wasn’t cleared of menus after the appetizers arrived. Hopefully this improves as the team gets more experience.
All in all, Indibar mostly lived up to the hype. I’d come back to try more curries or tandoori dishes, and I’m excited to see how...
