I have been going to this restaurant for the past few years, on 6/20 my bf & I ordered the #3 & 4 tacos. We called the next day due to us throwing up the food & we asked for a refund. The manager Brenda told me to go in the night-time to get my cash refund. Why I don’t understand why, but she did explain saying because the morning shift employees wouldn’t know since the night shift employees were the one who assisted us. But if you guys all work together, then I don’t understand why they can’t all communicate with one another? Any who, I went in the night-time as she specifically said over the phone. When I got there, this young brown skinned lady had no clue about a refund since they failed to notify her. So she called Brenda the manager over the phone, & the manager was trying to lie saying she told me to go in the day time which wasn’t true at all. So we were going back & forth as to why she had said prior to when I called to go in the night. Anywho, they were going to give me a cash refund of $22 something & I was a bit taken-back as to why I was getting a shorter amount then what I paid for since they did charge my card $45.51 so when I asked the employee why? She stated because I got the #3 & 3 tacos & I told her No, I got the #3 & 4 tacos. So when she was inputting the meal on her system it was giving her the $22 (I don’t recall the exact amount but it was around $20 something) so I asked her did you guys overcharge me because on my end it’s showing that you guys charged me $45.51 so she was going back & forth with the manager Brenda. Brenda then proceeded to tell her, that if she finds my receipt & if it says the amount that the cashier got she will only give me that amount back. Which I found hilarious because I was explaining to them that they literally charged me a different amount. So to save us the hassle, I informed they can either give me the correct refund back OR I will dispute it through my bank. After I said that, Brenda decided to look for the receipt & I was CORRECT about the amount. So after 20 minutes of going back & forth with them, they gave me my correct refund amount & they did say they OVERCHARGED ME. So to anyone who goes here, please make sure they are charging you the correct amount. For the chefs & other employee who was pale & had black hair looking at me like I was lying & had the face of mamonas. I definitely...
Read moreIt’s a small restaurant with plenty of seating. Lots of menu items to choose from. They have Gorditas, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, fish, soup, rice/beans and lots of meats. I have to be honest and say I wasn’t impressed with the service. Could be that we arrived at around 845 and they closed at 9 but we didn’t feel welcomed. The girl that took our order appeared to be annoyed we wanted to order. When we ordered the tacos plate we asked what comes in tacos. When she answered the first time with her head down and we couldn’t hear hear and asked her again she held held head down and rolled her eyes looking at us and answered again. The service barely got 3/5.
We ordered tacos plate and the Gordita and taco combo. The carne asada was very tasty and well seasoned. That gets a 5/5. I personally would not call a gordita what they refer to as a Gordita. Gorditas are stuffed with meat inside and held together in one piece like a pocket. They serve you two thick corn fried tortillas which were very delicious btw, with meat mixed with beans that sit on the bottom. To be honest I was very confused. Am I supposed to eat it like a taco or tostada? Either way, it’s not a Gordita but that tortilla gets a 5/5. The al pastor was 2/5. The seasoning was okay but not impressed because the meat was too soupy for me and the overload of beans mixed with the meat, in my opinion is not necessary. Rice and beans was good 4/5. The avocado salsa tasted good 4/5.
What’s interesting is that they have a salsa bar but you are limited to just 2. They have a sign that says anything over 2 sauces you have to pay $1.25 and that’s for the little bitty sauce. This is the first time I’ve ever seen a Mexican restaurant with an open bar do this. In my opinion this is tacky and ridiculous. I understand they cost money but if this is the case, they’re best just personally handing he salsas at the counter.
Overall, I would recommend because they have good food but I’m not sure if personally go back due to not feeling welcome and the charging...
Read moreNot all Jaliscos are the same. I have had good experiences with different locations and really bad ones in a short period of time. I was staying in a local Air BnB and hesitantly visited this location for the first time. I was greeted and placed my order for a variety of tacos (carne, pollo, al pastor), and a burrito. When my order was ready I asked for two red and green salsas, so I could see if they were any good, and if so im accustomed to using a lot on my tacos/burritos. The lady kind of looked at me strangly when I asked for two of each. Well, after my first bite, I then understood why. The meat was tender, well marinated, and overall some of the best carne, pollo, Al pastor I have had in the Phoenix metropolitan area. After a few hefty bites in amazement I remembered I had salsa. WOW, JUST WOW. Probably the best salsa in town for a taco shop. To be clear, in no way shape or form did I need the salsa to make the food better. It was already fabulous. It does a great job of complimenting the meal, and you definitely do not need a bunch. I visited this shop 3-4 more times in my stay, and even brought a friend on one visit. Each time the food was well worth it. Not to mention for the price you get a healthy portion of meat in your taco/burrito. I do not normally write lengthy reviews, yet this Jaliscos has earned a ton of praise from me and I most certainly look forward to dining/takeout here...
