Completely and fully 100% mediocre food. Absolutely nothing wrong with flavor, but (a hard) absolutely (aabbssoolluutteellyy) nothing special either. If you're broke down right in front of this place and are almost dead, sure. If you can walk like 50 more feet ( I assume since it is almost old town Scottsdale), do it. Had a party of 10, yeah I agree a large breakfast party so I get that, go out to breakfast. Most got coffee, two carafes between us meant there wasn't even get enough for two (standard small diner) cups worth for everyone. You want standard half and half? Given to us in a cup for the table we had to pass around and pour into our coffee cups. A cup which didn't even last the table the first round of coffee. When we needed more, the waiter required us to give the cup back to refill first, instead of bringing out anything... Just felt odd. The 'give me first' continued throughout the meal. We also had two kids there and asked to have their food out first because a couple people were late, our bad, and were told no, the kitchen won't do that. Even if asked, they know the tables and won't cook food until everyone orders. Ok, that's fine, we moved on. Five minutes later when we ordered everyone's food at once, things went fine enough. When food finally came out, most was cool, some was legit cold, and the rest was warm enough I guess. Kids food which was refused to be out early, was literally ice cold. Ok again, fine since my kid wanted cold food anyway. Two of the dishes were sent back for temperature, the rest just eaten because why bother. I got a burger, which said it had lettuce, tomato, and onion on the side. It did not. 100% dry AF bun too, which I would say sure is standard. Didn't bother asking for the veggies that were supposed to come, because multiple food items were already messed up (missing strawberries on a waffle, fully forgotten side of pancakes) and there was no desire to get these quickly by the staff. Let's talk flavors - French fries were bomb. Burger was boring, missing literally anything flavorful. Jalapeno and Cilantro were on it but literally flavorless. Chicken strips for my kid were good. Pancakes were solid too per my kids, but I mean those are pancakes covered by syrup and fruit. No orange marmalade, which is a personal and non rated concern lol, but just FYI. Overall, I'd just say it's boring, generic, fine, and expensive for what it is.
I'll end saying again things were fine not gross and I saw the table of two next to us get an omelette that was literally steaming hot, so maybe the temps were just them saying NO to staggering kids dishes first, then just staggering everyone's dishes and giving us cold eggs and soggy french fries...

It seemed several people were coordinating seating and we observed several groups taken in what seemed to be a random order, perhaps based on eye contact. You would tell hostess A yes we need a table for X and she would say ok let me go see what is open. A new host or hostess would appear and ask you that question, and twice we saw ourselves and another group tell the new hostess table for 2 or 3 (mind you the same number hostess A ran off to secure) and that new hostess took them right away and seated them. A came back, seemed confused, called out table for 2 and took a couple that just walked in.
The food. Well the menu had a lot of options and there seemed to be a good southwest flair to the items. Our table had an orange juice, a greyhound, a cape cod, some eggs benedict and a Sonora burrito. the benedict seemed ok until we discovered a significant piece of egg shell in the dish. The Sonora burrito was soggy and the chorizo was lackluster at best. I would rename this dish, onion burrito with a side of chorizo.
The cocktails were standard and not poor or grand in quality.
The orange juice was excellent.
The art around the walls was very cool, and the huge map of the states with significant icons scattered amongst them was neat.
We alerted management to our egg shell and food quality woes, he seemed a bit lost for a moment and then apologized and walked off. Not the most impressive exchange, we had told our waitress she exclaimed oh no, and then "I will go get your check"
All in all I would say if you are considering this place for a morning bite, there are better options in Scottsdale, or other places for...

It offers an upscale vibe while serving delicious food at extremely affordable prices. A simple phone call 10 minutes ahead of time ensured that my family of 7 didn’t have to wait. Once we were seated at our table, our waitress was on her game. She proceeded to take our drink orders immediately. Service was fast. Once our orders were taken it seemed as if no time went by before the staff was bringing our food out. This was one part of the service that was surprisingly enjoyable to see. Instead of watching a waitress struggling with 7 plates on her arm, the food was brought out by several staff members. The food……the food was simply amazing. Portions were generous and when I say it tasted incredible, it was exactly that. I ordered the chicken fried steak with sausage gravy, hash browns, and an english muffin. I have eaten my fair share of chicken fried steaks in the past, but none compared to this. The crust was crispy and flavorful but didn’t take away from the flavors of the steak or the sausage gravy. It was like a party going on in my mouth. For a second I was confused. Was I eating chicken? Steak? Or sausage. It was the best of all worlds on one plate. My recommendation is if you want great tasting food at a family friendly, upscale location, served by great people, give U.S. Egg on North...
