My girlfriend and I rented a room for two days here.||On the first day when I checked the manager ran my credit card and said it was no good. I knew it was, politely asked him to double check. He got angry, used racist language and insisted it was a "bad" card. The credit card company sent me a notification that the wrong expiration date had been entered. I returned to the front desk and explained what had happened to the manager and he begrudgingly reran the card. He offered no apology for his previous behavior.||The next day one of the other couples we were holidaying with stopped by our room. We made plans to walk to a restaurant in the town center, My girlfriend was running late so she decided to stay behind and wait for the second couple, who were also running late. The 3 of them would drive into town and meet us later.||As the three of us approached the town center I received a frantic phone call from my girlfriend. She was crying and told me the manager had showed up at our door, screaming at her and telling her to leave the property. I grabbed an Uber back to the hotel. When I arrived I found my girlfriend outside, visibly upset and shaking. She told me the manager had screamed at her about having 6 people in the room and she needed to get our belongings out or he was calling the police. This made no sense to me so I went to the managers office assuming there was some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. Instead I was greeted by a very hostile and angry manager who started raving about 6 people in our room and "he knew what we were doing." ||This was ridiculous. I explained there was just my girlfriend and I in the room. No one else was staying there. He yelled that he saw me walk by with two other people , one of whom had "had tattoos all over him." ||"Yes," I said, "then you saw me walk right by your office with another couple that we were joining for dinner. The second couple were going to pick up Angela (my girlfriend) and meet us later. They didn't want to walk. "||"That's a crazy story," he yelled.||"If I was trying to hide people why would I walk right by your office?" I asked.||"You were trying to be smart" he yelled.||He continued yelling nonsensically about people coming on the property and saying "I know what you people are trying to do. I have it on video."||"Good. Then you know that they just stopped by for a minute to pick her up."||He started yelling about how he "knew what I was trying to do.."||I had no idea what he was talking about. There was no rule nor had he told us that people couldn't come on the property to knock at our door. Or that people can't come by to pick us up.||My girlfriend was still very upset, the manager continued yelling about "you people" and "he knew what we were trying to do."||We got our belongings out of the room, which we left in perfect condition and left the hotel.||Over the next several days the hotel charged me several hundred dollars in phony deposits on my credit card. I am disputing them now.||Stay far away...
Read moreDo yourself a favor and do NOT stay at this place. Kind of "dumpy." Very poorly organized and managed. Room was not that clean and there was no room service for the entire week we were there. In fact, you had to go to the front desk to ask for towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, etc. Rarely was someone at the front desk so you had to wait about 10 minutes for assistance. We finally be-friended one of the maids and she ultimately provided us with the basic necessities whenever we asked. Our room keys malfunctioned 4-5 times necessitating that we go to the front desk at all hours to get them re-programmed so we could get into the room. I tried calling the front desk about 6 times before I actually arrived in Scottsdale and checked in and no one ever answered the phone. I wasn't sure they were even in business before I arrived. I could go on but I'll finish with this...the other person I shared the room with - a Choice Hotel member - actually booked the room beforehand and charged it to his credit card.. After we checked out, we both were billed for the entire stay, with my credit card being incorrectly charged more than twice as much as the original booking charges charged to my friend. When I called the hotel to inquire about this and to get the charges on my credit card reversed, it took about 5 calls before the owner/manager ever answered the phone. She remembered who I was and promised to call me back in 30 minutes. After not hearing from her for nearly a week I called back about 6 more times to no avail because no one ever answered the phone. After two weeks of futility, I finally called The Choice Hotel Guest Relations Department and they ultimately resolved the issue directly with me, as they also called the hotel directly and could never get anyone on the phone themselves. I would give the Choice Hotel staff a 5-rating for all their efforts and I recommended that they seriously consider removing this Scottsdale location from their preferred listings. I have been going to Phoenix for the past 20 years and have stayed at other Choice locations with no problems at all. Bottom line is that this particular site was a total disaster and I will never stay there again - even if they offered me a free...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed at the Rodeway Inn, 2934 North Scottsdale Rd on Feb 23 (in one room that was fine), and on Feb 25,26,27 (in another room). Our bed linens were not changed, and no fresh towels. I had to ask the desk for towels. On the 26th I noticed about 25-30 bites on my abdomen. I went to the desk, told the clerk I stripped the bed, needed the mattress and floor vacuumed and fresh linens. I showed her my abdomen. I asked for the manager, and was told he was not there. Our room was cleaned. I was told they used the black light and found nothing. The next morning I asked for the manager. I was told he was not in yet, and hadn't been made aware of the situation. We checked out on the 29th. Manager still not available, and asked to have him call me. To this date he has never called.
I called the Maricopa County Health Dept and filed a complaint. They returned my call and went to the motel. They said they found nothing. The inspecter said the motel had the exterminator service come after my incident. Convenient prior to health dept visit! Have they done this before?!
I have called the motel several times and on March 16 was told the regional manager would call me. Today, March 22 I called the motel only to be told that the regional manager was not going to call as "he has nothing to do with this."
I developed raised bites that came to a head, and still have scabs on my abdomen.
My husband and I have traveled extensively and have never had this occurrence. The mere fact that the motel and the regional manager would not speak to us, shows a complete lack of customer service and does not fare well as representing...
