NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EXPERIENCED SUCH ABSURDLY RUDE SERVICE! We chose this restaurant for everyone to meet at to celebrate a coworker leaving. Before I arrived, apparently it had been established that we were being seved at an outside table, and anyone that was a part of this celebration would have to be on one tab. Which is extremely inconvenient when everyone was just showing up when they could, to say goodbye. Never the less we carried on. Unfortunately, many of our coworkers stopped at the bar to order a drink ( as you would at ANY OTHER BAR ) before making it to the table or just because they were inside to enjoy the pinball machines. Anyone who attempted to do this was immediately and rudely told that they couldn't order from the bar. They had to wait outside for the server to come to the table to take their order. When myself and two of my coworkers had tried to order from the bar and couldn't understand why they wouldn't just let us order some drinks, another man ( who we later found out was the MANAGER Rob ) was called over. With no explanation as to why we couldn't order at the bar, we were told we had to stay at the outside table. We couldn't even sit at the bar inside and mingle with other people. I just about walked out when Rob asked us when we'd be leaving with a clear attitude. That was just my experience, but others had similar issues. Obviously frustrated, thirsty, and hot, there were discussions amongst the group about how rude the service had been. Including the waitress who at best seemed bothered and inconvenienced by us. Trying to salvage the situation, my coworker politely asked the waitress to please communicate to the bar staff that they could be more polite and clear when explaining their ordering policy to anyone coming in. Soon after that, Rob, the manager, came out to tell us that they would no longer be serving us. Then Rob escalated the situation further by hovering less than two feet away, refusing to give us any space, and had a server clear the table while we tried to finish what drinks we had and figure out who ordered what so that payments could be transferred to the person paying the single tab. The tab that automatically included a 20% tip for giving us such terrible service. The place barely had anyone else there. So it's not like they were packed and trying their best to accommodate us. It's just plain and simple, extremely terrible service that leaves you wondering how the place is open in the first place. This was not a rowdy crowd of people either. I don't even think we had 15 people show up yet. The first person to get there had only been there for an hour and a half, maybe two. Most of us hadn't even gotten a chance to order anything yet, myself included. We were there to have fun, have drinks, and say goodbye to a loved coworker. Safe to say, none of us will be back. Can't keep us down, though! We found a better bar that welcomed us all in and spent lots of money there. We all needed a drink after that...
Read moreMan am I impressed with this bar/restaurant. I normally don’t enjoy bar type environments because the musics too loud and it’s easily somewhere I get overwhelmed and overstimulated. We came here for fancier pizza than a chain. We were not disappointed. We got carded on arrival. It was 9 pm on a Monday. The outdoor patio is super nice and cozy, well decorated and heated with propane lamps. However we opted to be sat indoor. The decor is cute actually, feels like a bar but has lots to look at around. It’s very clean. Chic feel. The menu isn’t large but it’s got enough to keep you satisfied. We didn’t try any of the cocktails. We ordered pizza by the slice which is actually a fantastic option- no tendency to over eat, no pesky left overs and you can try different flavours. I loved the pep pie & pretty fly for a white pie. My partner had pep and a ziggy. He also loved them. Food came out fairly fast after ordering. Our only gripe was that we initially ordered mozzarella breadsticks but it didn’t come out. When I asked about it the server said the kitchen was working on a new batch as it had gotten too crispy. When I asked I had referred to them as garlic knots, and when she returned later she brought garlic only- so I think it had been forgotten completely from the get go. We were so thrilled and satisfied with our pizza and service otherwise that we didn’t feel the need to say anything and let it slide. However the garlic knots are not good. I think with the mozzarella they would’ve been so much better but there’s something not quite right/missing. The real garlic pieces are overpowering as they’re just chopped atop without being overly cooked and im thinking they had parsley on there when oregano would’ve done a better job.
This bar though? The vibes are right. We could have conversation despite music in the background. There are TVs to watch sports or play trivia. The music was a lot of the stuff I listened to in highschool so I really enjoyed that.
I really couldn’t recommend this place enough- it’s actually great and im sad we aren’t local to return.
Oh and of note: parking located at the back as is the...
Read moreWe had a very odd experience here, and I can't recommend this establishment. We had a party of 7 and showed up around 6PM on a Friday and asked for a table. We were informed that it would be a while to get a table inside but we could sit outside on the patio if we'd like. We decided that would be fine and we took the table outside. No one ever came to serve us. After about 10 minutes sitting there a couple of us went to the bar to at least order drinks. Still no service at our table. We asked the host if we could be moved inside since tables had opened up inside at that point. We were told that it wasn't possible since we already opened a tab outside. Even though we hadn't opened an outside tab since we had no service. Strange. After a lengthy back and forth with the staff, we were eventually able to get on a wait-list for a table inside. We moved inside and hung around the bar playing pinball waiting for our table. A number of tables were open at this point and we were the only party waiting. One of our party went to the front desk to inquire how long the wait would be, and we were informed that our party wouldn't be seated and we were kicked out. Had to leave immediately. We weren't inebriated or anything; we had one, maybe two drinks waiting for our table for over an hour. I don't know if the staff confused us with another party or what but we never got a table and had to leave before getting any service. We asked why we were being kicked out but never got a reasonable answer. As we were waiting for an Uber to take us home from the curb, several members of the staff threatened us saying they were calling the cops if we didn't leave. We were already outside the establishment in the parking lot waiting for our Uber. Could only laugh at that point. Very bizarre experience. Pinball was fun, my one drink was fine, but unfortunately only got a negative experience...
