Tiffy's Desserts — Restaurant in Scottsdale

No doubt about it, these cupcakes are as delicious as they look! But the sweetest of the sweets were really the staff and owner at this tiny gem of a bakery, specializing in cupcakes and ice creamery. I went in with my kiddos to reward them with some cupcakes for good behavior this past week while their dad’s been away. Having made our selections and paid, we headed home to enjoy the treats. But just as we were at the car door, while trying to manage some very excited kids, the box slipped out of my hand...I was able to salvage all but one of the cakes but needless to say, our beautiful cupcakes weren’t so beautiful anymore. However, since the one that bit the dust was earmarked for one of the kids, back into the shop I went. I was happy to pay for the replacement but the lady behind the counter told her staff that there will be no charge. Furthermore, she came out to help me clean and sort out the remaining casualties in the box, 6 tousled cupcakes and frosting everywhere. Needless to say, I was a little frazzled and covered in frosting in no time, so this nice lady sent me to the shop’s bathroom to clean up and told me that she’ll handle the rest. What did I find when I came back out? A completely new box of perfectly decorated cupcakes! I was so shocked and offered to pay, but with a smile, she said, “we all have one of those days!” And sent me on my way, while wishing me a good day! Nope. The desserts are not very good. I do not understand the appeal of this place, let alone a 4.7 star rating! Until, I actually read the reviews...most of the recent ones were talking about how cute and pretty everything was, NOT about how yummy the cupcakes were.

I ordered 3 cupcakes (lemon surprise, chocolate on chocolate, and oreo), a frosted sugar cookie, a bon bon, qnd i even sampled the ice creams. Nothing was done well or tasted high quality.

The cake itself was edible, but the texture was super crumbly. The oreo cupcake had the best frosting. The chocolate and lemon frostings were horrendous! They tasted artificial and had a chemical aftertaste. I do not believe that this place is making their frostings from scratch, using real cream, butter, sugar, cocoa, etc. Homemade buttercream frosting is super easy! But compared to Tiffy's Desserts, I've had supermarket cupcakes that were better! The lemon surprise was filled with that same yellow goop you find in donuts.

The sugar cookie was okay, but small and expensive. The bon bons were not real chocolate truffles. They were presented that way and costs as much. But the bon bons seem to have a chocolate candy coating. The ice cream flavors I tried each had a different texture...not very appealing. Sigh.

Unless I urgently need 2 dozen oreo cupcakes, I won't be returning. The stuff at Tiffy's, just isn't...

Absolutely without a doubt the best bakery in Arizona!!!! For so long we would just go to Nothing Bundt Cakes and they were always so so! We are from Chicago and never found a good bakery in the 9 years we lived here. I took a chance and called Small Cakes because I drove by their location. It is a family owned bakery and their son was so personable and a joy to work with. I ordered two cakes for my daughters 2nd birthday! Minnie Mouse themed! The cakes were just beautiful and everything I asked for and more! The attention to detail, colors, and decorating were unbelievable! They made quite the hit at the party! Bonus: every guest at the party could not believe how delicious the cake was and kept asking me where they were from. It’s hard to find a good cake that not only looks great but is moist and delicious! I am so happy I found small cakes and I will be returning without a doubt. I keep waiting for a celebration to come along just to be able to enjoy another cake from them. Thank you for amazing customer service, and top notch quality...
