Food: 3/5 We ordered Paneer burger, aloo patty burger, samosa chaat, chocolate milkshake and chai. The food had the right texture but dampened flavors. Would have really liked the spices and taste to be more enhanced. Feels like it’s branded a tad bit towards an American audience that makes it fall short for indian taste buds. The paneer burger doesn’t have a patty (unlike the menu) but both the burgers had the perfect texture like McDonalds burgers in India, just not the flavorful taste. Samosa chaat also looked and had the right mix of crispy samosa and soft chole but lacked the flavors. The chai had fennel in it that I don’t personally like but the Chocolate Shake was YUMM!! Ambiance: 4/5 Very nice and clean ambiance. A bit better than regular fast food snacks chains. Service: 4/5 It’s self pick up from counter and the restaurant was mostly empty so no issues on service. Value: 3/5 It was about $17/person so very reasonable for so many items for a fast food place. Just the lack of flavor cost it a point on value. Return? May go once more to see if can customize the spice level and try a couple other items like vada pav.

I've seen this place on my travels and I decided to finally try it. The menu is cluttered feeling, I felt a little rushed as I was looking for something to try. I decided on a Cheese Burger w/ Fries and a can of Sprite. There was a TV playing a Bollywood film, it ended shortly after I sat down but it did look exciting. My meal was ready and I brought it to my table, but I needed napkins and ketchup. The napkins I managed to find right away but not so with the ketchup. I asked the clerk at the counter, he merely said it's there with the napkins. I informed him there was none visible. He impatiently walked over and said they're right here, then noticing there was only one packet way at the bottom of the container, he mumbled that he would get more. Overall the burger was juicy and savory, the fries were nicely seasoned. I really enjoyed the food. The customer service could be friendlier, but I would still come back to eat here.

I had lofty expectations for this place, but it felt flat. The ambulance, while inviting, was subtly ruined by videos of a bunch of silly sounding Punjabi songs. The menu definitely looked interesting and it's not often, if at all, that one finds paneer and omelette burgers on the menu. The omelette burger arrived looking regal. But it was too big and steaming to eat easily and very soon it collapsed into a salad. It tasted great, but was hard to eat. The aloo tikki chaat was mediocre and it didn't resonate with me as much as I'd have liked it to have. The balance of the chaat flavors was not optimal. This was also the case with the samosa. It appears the blends are spice forward without focusing on the other elements. The masala chai was on point, however, and it's a good reason alone to visit this place.

These 5 star reviews are extremely questionable, they’re all written by profiles who only wrote 1 review.

I have to admit that Bombay Burger was very underwhelming. I love Indian food and love the concept of Indian burger fusion, this is genius, but this food felt like it came out of a cheap food truck.

The bun tasted like some cheap bun that was just bought in a nearby supermarket. The curry meat inside had some flavor, but I definitely would not say this is the “best burger” like all these other reviews or anything special.

The ambience needs some work, but I’ll admit it takes time to get this right with it being such a new place. The staff was very unwelcoming, even being Indian I thought I’d get a friendly welcome, but it just wasn’t warm at all when I placed my order.

The price is pretty amazing for Capitol Hill food, but it’s not a place I would recommend or go to again.

I really hope they can improve the quality of their food and their ambience, once they can get this right, I’m sure this place would be a hot spot. However, right now, it...

I went into this restaurant yesterday night 9 pm (Dec 7). There was 2 guys, a boy and a man, the boy was standing in the counter, the man was cooking, I asked the boy that I would like to order some food for dine in. I ordered a plate of samosa and a omelets burger, the total came out $15 and I added $2 as tip making the total of $17.17. I paid the amount in full and then the boy started crossing me by asking where I'm from, I told the boy that I was born in the US and my parents moved to US from Bengal, then the boy went inside and told this to the man who was cooking, then the man started talking in hindi abusing me and Bengal. This is a verbal harassment and I should had called the police but since I'm a peace loving guy I kept quiet. The boy bought the food but I was so disgusted by the man's behavior that I told the boy to pack the food. After he packed the food I went outside and throw the food in the garbage 🗑 and walked off. I paid $17 and only got abuse and...
