Quaint, clean, comfortable place that provided for an average stay. Was warmly greeted upon arrival and shown to my room. Inside the room was a mini refrigerator but no microwave (see pic). I was denied entry into nearby restaurants/bars due to the fact that I didn't have my vaccination card on me, all part of the county's annoying intrusive ordinance on COVID 19. I asked the host's wife If a microwave would be available to me to heat up something from the grocery store because of this ordinance. She replies that they have a microwave but they don't allow guests into their personal space to use it. I was shocked and disappointed to see only a small computer monitor on the desk in the room for a tv (see pic). And then the last night I was there I decided to try this tv to only be greeted with a non working device (see pic). The Front door along with the Room door had this Door keypad on it requiring you to enter a code to lock and unlock the door (see pic). Sometimes I had to re-enter the codes cause door didn't work sometimes, that was annoying! The room had a heating unit on the floor(see pic), but was controlled downstairs for the whole house, there was no thermostat in the room to control the temperature. Host was accommodating in offering me more blankets if I wanted them, but told him I would make due. The room had no alarm clock or therefore a clock on the wall to help manage your time without looking at your phone, although there were a lot of mirrors and pictures everywhere! The best part of the room was the comfortable bed that provided for a great nights rest! There is some street noise with cars and an occasional siren from police and ambulances that go by, but for the most part it was a quiet stay here to say the least. If you are disabled like myself you may want to consider staying elsewhere as there was two flights of stairwells that had to be navigated to get to the rooms (see pic). The continental breakfast was a total disappointment as it was a sparse offering (see pic). Would have appreciated some milk, cold or hot cereal, yogurt, hot entrée. I ended up going to the grocery store down the street to buy breakfast items for my last morning there before I left. Overall, my stay here was average, and nothing noteworthy to write home about. The hosts were friendly and for the most part accommodating which I appreciated! The place is immaculate and is well decorated like a museum. I'm deducting one star for the poor breakfast, and one star for the non working tv a.k.a. computer monitor in my room. For the money I paid for the two nights ($300), I would have appreciated a better value in the amenities that I received... breakfast, tv.

This was a horrible place and parking was impossible. See the pictures i attached below. The drain was completely clogged and i had to do my own plumbing just to use the sink. That was the least of our worries though. I left early in the morning to go to a conference and a couple hours after I leave a strange man kept insisting that he needs to get into our room and clean. My wife was alone and resting. She told the man Im sleeping and i do not want to be disturbed. The man came back later and asked again if he could come in. MY wife again stated that she was tired and wanted to be alone. Then the guy starts banging on the door so loud and violently, that the entire door frame shook. "let me in right now im the owner and i need to clean" MY wife says that he kept saying that he wanted to take the blinds down to clean them. She said no thank you because without the blinds the light would come in. And she would have nothing covering the windows. No privacy at all. She said "leave me alone please!" but he just would not quit. He came back later and said to my wife through the door "theres more than one way to get into this room" She was absolutely petrified. She was extremely worried because she noticed earlier when she looked out the peep hole at him. That the other 2 guests were already checked out. Their room doors were completely wide open. She was alone in this huge house with this very aggressive man demanding to get into our room alone with her. I got there and got her out as soon as i could. After i calmed her down. I went back inside the B&B to confront the owner. He scoffed at me and rudely stated "this is my house i can go wherever I want to go." My jaw dropped. I just still cant believe that all of this happened and that he felt that it was ok and normal to harass my wife while i was out working. Just completely entitled and inappropriate to say the very least. I suggest no one stays here. Especially if you are traveling with your wife and or daughter. Beware

Anniversary trip to Seattle: If you want to stay at an utterly unique bed and breakfast in Seattle, “The Gaslight Inn” is the “ jewel in the crown”! A city awarded landmark status property, this gorgeous craftsman home oozes old world charm and elegance. A lovely outdoor heated swimming pool adds to all it has to offer. Situated in Capitol Hill, it has easy access to a variety of public transport options. Volunteer Park with the Conservatory and Asian Art Museum plus downtown city views is a short walk away. This vast home was so well built that it cushions any noise. We were totally unaware that other guests were staying there until we encountered them in the dining room! The morning starts with a wide selection of delicious breakfast offerings. Meeting other guests from all over the world, or elsewhere in the USA adds to the fun of breakfast encounters and conversations. Our room was fabulous, with a small attached bathroom and a private balcony overlooking the pool. Very comfortable. As for the hosts, Ryan and Joelle, I can only say that they are truly the best and most welcoming couple. Helpful in every way and embracing the true meaning of hospitality. We loved it there and swam daily after lengthy explorations of Seattle. We highly recommend staying at this historic home.

Stayed here with my boyfriend for 2 nights at the end of a 2 week visit to the USA. This was my first visit to the gaslight and my boyfriend had visited before so we were excited to stay together.

Firstly, this is a absolutely stunning home. The building is beautiful and the area it is in is great. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by as well as a large supermarket.

Location wise you’re about a 10 min walk to the nearest subway station but you can also walk downtown in no time at all (and I would recommend you do as you’ll see some amazing local businesses on the way)

The gaslight is very well known in the local community and I can see why, it really is a beautiful place to stay and is a very accommodating safe space for everyone.

The owners were very friendly and polite and helpful when we needed them, and the housekeeping staff member I met on my final morning also got chatting to me and was very friendly. They obviously love what they do and it shows.

We had a room with a private shower room and semi private balcony. I really liked the room, it was large and had everything you could want (including a mini fridge to chill the all important wine for evenings on the balcony). The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. The air con also worked great and was controlled in the room. The air con was also silent so won’t disturb you if needed on over night like we did.

Really nice feature the tv in the room is a Amazon fire tv and there were plenty of channels/apps available for use if you want that.

Breakfast was served around a large dining table and everyone sat together. I only had breakfast at the table for one of my two mornings at the gaslight as had to pack the final morning but I really enjoyed chatting to the other guests and the owner while enjoying some gorgeous fresh fruit, muffins, croissants, juice and coffee.

I would love to return again and will soon! They also have a large pool for the summer which...
