I live in West Seattle heard alot about Buddha Ruksa and never went there - well my loss. This place is amazing and my fav Thai place in all of Seattle. They have their traditional Thai dishes like curries and all but also some different menu items which you dont get at other places. We called them and booked a reservation for Saturday dinner. Glad we did cos when we arrived at 7:30 PM their wait time was over 45 mins. We were promptly seated and ordered the following items: Spicy Wonton: Delicious house made pork and shrimp dumplings served with our famous garlic chili oil. Crispy Garlic Chicken and Tofu: This was really good. They serve this as an entree or app both so ask your server about that. Chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce coating was very flavorful Crab fried rice: The most flavorful best crab fried rice I have ever had. I usually find it to be dry but this place had it perfectly made so much so I did not need any curry to pair it up with. Huge fan of the crab fried rice at this place. 5 Spice Duck Noodle: Delicious egg noodles with five spice duck. This was really good. The noodles had soaked amazing flavors from the sauce and the duck was cooked perfectly too. Vegetable Spring Rolls: Nice crispy fresh tasting spring rolls. Drinks: Blueberry Lemon Drop, Dark & stormy, Tamarind sour & Jan-Hom (non-alcoholic). All the drinks were amazing, tasted great and presentation was on point.
Service was superb. The restaurant has a nice cozy ambience. Food was out in no time even though it was busy dinner time. Parking can be a pain at this location but you may get lucky finding a spot in the residential lanes. All in all I am a fan and I highly recommend this spot for all Thai...
Read moreThis review is a little long but I’d like to share my experience. I visited with my sister and cousin over the weekend, excited to check the place out and we all left in a sour mood:
Our server seemed annoyed from the start. She took my sister and cousins orders first and was tapping on the screen for a couple minutes without saying anything. She seemed confused. Then she turned to leave without ever taking my order. When I said I haven’t ordered she said “oh more? That’s a lot of food.”…. We were shocked and silent about how incredibly rude she was.
We asked her to read back our order before she left again, when she did, my cousin informed her that she missed the calamari.
Our food finally comes but with a plate of crispy garlic chicken with prawns, which we never ordered. We tell the man who dropped off our food that we never ordered it and he took it away. Then the rude server came over very passive aggressively and was trying gaslight my cousin that she ordered prawns. My cousin insisted she never ordered prawns, and me and my sister never heard her say prawns. Instead of the server to own up to her mistake, she tried to put it on us and make us uncomfortable.
After that interaction, the rude server never came back to our table. We noticed they switched her out with another server, who was nice.
As for the food, the pad see ew was bland, the Pad Thai was too saucy, the drinks were mid (mojito & amaretto sour), and the fresh rolls were just ok. The crispy garlic chicken was decent but we’ve had better. The only food we enjoyed was the calamari.
I hope in the future, they can train their staff on proper...
Read more5/5 Stars: A Flavorsome Oasis in Seattle! Tucked away in the heart of Seattle, Budda Ruksa Thai Restaurant is a culinary gem that shines bright with its delectable dishes and crafty cocktails. My wife and I had the pleasure of dining here, and we were blown away by the explosion of flavors on our plates.
We kicked off our meal with the Garlic Crispy Chicken, which was nothing short of phenomenal. The crispy exterior gave way to juicy, flavorful chicken that was infused with the perfect amount of garlic. Paired with the Garlic Shrimp, which was cooked to perfection, and the Garlic Rice, our taste buds were doing the happy dance.
But the real showstopper was the Penang Sauce, served on the side. Rich, creamy, and with just the right amount of spice, this sauce elevated our meal to new heights. We were literally scraping the bottom of the bowl to get every last drop.
To complement our meal, my wife opted for the Blood Orange Margarita, which was equally impressive. The subtle sweetness of the blood orange paired perfectly with the tanginess of the margarita, making for a refreshing and unique cocktail.
Throughout our meal, the service was attentive, friendly, and service.
In short, Buddha Ruka Thai Restaurant is a must-visit destination for any foodie or Thai cuisine enthusiast. With its bold flavors, creative cocktails, and exceptional service, this hidden gem is sure to leave you craving for more.
