I'm not sure who owns this franchise location but they've had a rough time of it. We used to live in Fairwood and went to the Habit Burger in Kent (which was a very well-run location) so we were very excited to see a Habit Burger come to West Seattle.
We saw a drastic quality difference right away. The staff was constantly getting our orders wrong either by charging us for add-ons but forgetting to put them on or charging us but forgetting to include items in our take-out orders.
We stayed away from the West Seattle for a year and hoped it would improve. We recently started going back after an initial successful visit but once again we've run into staff that just do not care. We went through the drive-thru and the service seemed friendly enough but it wasn't until we got home that we noticed an item that we paid for was missing from the order.
My husband drove back and the same young woman that took our order at the drive-thru (barely) greeted him when he walked into the location. When he told her that she'd left an item out she just said, "OK. I'll get it." She didn't offer an apology or any other means of making up for her mistake. She didn't seem to care at all.
This was the kind of thing that was happening regularly when we first started going to the West Seattle location and apparently there's no emphasis put on trying to fix it.
This even happened when we dined in. We got two combo meals but they only put the fries for one combo on the tray, turning their backs and walking away from the counter after getting our order wrong.
If you do order from the drive-thru, check your order thoroughly before driving off. They are repeat offenders of not fully...
Read moreYour typical burger joint. I live close, so I like to pop by when I have a craving. Some of the crew here are really nice, and some act like they don't care about the job at all. Weird. The toppings bar at the side is nice, and honestly, the burgers are pretty good! A better taste than most fast food burgers.
This strange thing happened one of the last times I went, though, which has stuck on my mind since: I ordered a double char burger, and a side of fries. I don't drink soda, so I don't usually get combos. The burger and fries on their menu board estimated the price to be about 16 bucks. So I order at the counter, and the employee working says it'll be $18 something. I ask to confirm that it's a burger by itself, and a side of fries, and they confirm. I say "Huh? How come on there, it says [adding up the two items] $16?"
They didn't know what to say other than "That's what happens when I push the button. I'm not sure." There was a brief back and forth about the price, but it ended with "That's what the computer is telling me." I say "No, thank you, please cancel the order."
I'm super confused, a little disappointed, but mostly still hungry. I considered walking to Taco Time, but then I see the ordering kiosk right next to the register. Out of curiously, I plug in my order, and it comes to $16 something. So I ordered and got my food at the expected price. Very weird.
I know $2 isn't a lot, but it's the principle. You can't tell someone a price on your menu board, then have it ring up higher at the POS, only for it to ring cheaper on a different POS. Anyway, pay attention to...
Read moreI recently ordered from The Habit Burger, which has switched to drive-thru and delivery only. Since I don’t have a car, I had to use a delivery service. For two double burgers with no cheese, no fries, and no drinks, the total came to $32 (including tip). Honestly, that felt like a rip-off.
On the positive side, the burgers were delicious. The seasoning was fantastic, and the double burger was impressively tall and filling, which gives the place some redeeming value. However, for the cost, I expected more. Being forced to use a delivery service for a location just 0.5 miles away is frustrating—especially when companies like Uber Eats tack on sky-high service fees.
To make matters worse, they advertised a "buy one, get one free" chocolate milkshake deal on the Uber Eats app. But as soon as I applied the promo, an $8 charge was added to the service fee, and $8 was added to the subtotal. In the end, there were no savings at all—just deceptive pricing that made the deal a complete lie. I find it dishonest when companies use bait-and-switch tactics like this to lure customers.
The quality of the food here is great, and they have the potential to grow into a bigger, busier chain. However, customers also value fairness and affordability, and there’s little of that to be found. For the same price, I could’ve gotten two full meals with drinks and fries at McDonald’s.
I would go again if I had a vehicle or was in someone else's vehicle for the reduction in...
