Cafe Ladro is a solid choice when it comes to coffee and related beverages in Seattle. This location has a pretty open layout, has a bunch of bar seats to work on, along with a table with a few chairs (for groups) as well as a comfy sofa and couple of leather chairs. It also has outside seating as well but not directly on or extremely close to the street which is a plus imo. It has free wifi and even though NE 65th St is busy, you can easily get street parking in any of the side streets within 2-3 blocks. Added bonus is that the place stays open till 7pm which is late for most other cafes, especially in winters. I have tried the matcha latte and hot chocolate here; both well made and especially great that our barista was happy to split a jumbo size into two drinks for sharing. The reasons behind 3 stars are, however: The drinks came in paper cups. I understand that the cups are recyclable but only if they're rinsed clean and honestly I would have preferred to have my drinks in reusable cup unless I was planning to take it to-go. The toilets were not very clean. There are no seat liners and the day I visited, the centerpull towel dispenser was clogged with wet towel mess. The place wasnt busy at all so I would appreciate the staff to take care of the cleanliness of the toilet a bit more. In fact the cafe is pretty neat and clean so I wasnt expecting the state of the toilet.
I would love to come back and stay if they can improve on...
Read moreWaited for one shakerato for “20-minutes” at a quiet cafe. We came up to the counter like 10 minutes after, and was told the coffee was not ready and they’ll call it out. However, we saw some customers ordered and got their coffee right away. Coffee came out like this in the picture and skinny barista lady with blonde hair, hair tied, kept making excuses saying they called out at least twice and we did not hear it. If she knew, she could have mentioned it to us on her way to the bathroom. I’m sure they were chitchatting up until making our shakerato not doing their job. Or her colleague made it and sit it there for a while, not called it out. And she offered us another coffee. But I don’t think so. You’re gonna keep us another 20 mins. That’s not gonna make any difference. Plus, I’ve never seen a shakerato like this ever in my whole life. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time and it’s our first time being treated like this. You should improve your customer service standard and not tell customer delayed coffee is customer’s fault....
Read moreLadron has a small shop situated in the Roosevelt / Ravenna neighborhood. I like the shop for all of the natural light it gets. Good place to grab a seat by the window if you have to get some work done. The coffee is good and the cookies are really good if you like cookies. My main issue is that it's really expensive for coffee. I mean like a large drop coffee is all.ost $5 and if.you want to get that drip coffee refilled it is almost $3. That is significantly more than most other Seattle coffee shops. Aside from the cost of the coffee it's also a nice place to meet a friend for a coffee on a nice day because of their outside seating and...
