Caroline Tavern — Restaurant in Seattle

This is a regulars bar for the most part and I felt entirely comfortable and welcomed.

I was happy it wasn't a golf lounge given the proximity to golf. There's pull tabs, pool, and a couple pinball machines. The game was on several TV's. Patrons knew each other's names and sounded like they were all linked on FB. It looks a lot bigger on the outside.

I showed up for the wings based on hearsay. Legit wings & tots at a bargain price. For the wing purist, perhaps not, they were breaded and do it yourself sauced. They were hot, crunchy, and easy to pull off the bone with a nice mix of drums and flats (not that, I expect, they were paying attention to that. But if they were, kudos to them.) It was Frank's in a squeeze bottle and I'm down with Frank's and squeeze bottles. It was a huge sharing worthy portion with more tots than I would have made for myself.

I've driven by scores of times and finally felt ready to stop in and I'm glad I did.

The Caroline is an historic local Tavern/Bar/Eatery with old world charm. Located just across from Jackson (9) gokf course, the Caroline has plenty of parking, a fantastic covered outdoor patio with sports and heaters, and even fresh water dog bowls for your pups! Candace and Annekah and the rest of the staff make sure everyone has a great time. The Caroline is one of the best old-school dives in Seattle--not just North Seattle, but the whole city. Great bartenders, solid food, strong and appropriately priced drinks, and a pool table that, although it often feels more like playing minigolf than billiards, is free and contested by a friendly, open group of regulars. There's also a lovely covered patio out back. And they're dog-friendly. And there's a whole dang parking lot, just for you. Sometimes they'll put up a sign saying "We won't be open until 10am on Thursday, we apologize for the inconvenience." Look, just go check this place...
