"These Carrots are like perfectly sliced down the middle"...I learned from the best, she taught me everything vegetal, green, seasonal, especially the nonsensible light of day...La Padrona in the Alley, her Pink Door.
Soft they were yet not to where the root flavors are boiled or burnt off, we're in the stratosphere of cook knows his vegetable do's, Italian or not, someone back there has an understanding. You decide, was their texture left for your knife or jaws? Both were fine by the cookery, serration of a knife no affront through to the bottom or the underlying plate, no curse and scratch or chop when carrots are cooked like this I insist to my owner's manual, "Elbows on vaneer, fingertips and suffering no rules"... or etiquettes, unbound, I eat them same as pulled from the ground, space out in earthly romance, index and thumb...slow like frog's legs. So I was then just felt like the I want to be both here and disappear...into the brights and hinges of a hanging chandelier...
Okay then...some nuts, pine I think I recall added a brute bitter to play with the coaxed sweetness yellow, white, purple, orange, green heirloom almost a fruit when given the right chase. Drops of whipped ricotta and lemon the struts n' accenture here... just barely enough...foment the regularity of root and dust.
I only had veggies and wine with Cora and I was happy, that's what I wanted. I ate some delicious greens, hydrating, sprite and stewed...a kick spicy and a tart charm, again hydratingly healthy and robust with fueling energies.
The place is clean and dust free, moistened table woods and overheads, glass, utensil, plate, reflections all around, spotless and shining...Every place set, equidistant, held and thought of.
The host was server, I am so sorry young lady, I have forgotten your name. I apologize and your timing and your intent said much about the owner...
Kelly, she has a smile like a three part summer's day and was completely sincere, I think that was the most amazing thing was Kelly's resilience and hospitality. We talked and it's a hard few years in the restaurant business. She's a wonderful soul with gift's genuine and loving. I felt happy she was very savvy, has a ton of confidence, a beautiful timelessness that's brave and near.
Cora is very nice but doesn't lose itself in itself, it's ultimately delightful for any occasion, few, a long table of ten or just one as myself when I went... it's all the same, that's real talent when it's like that. You should go, don't hesitate. They are all so present.
Thank you...
Read moreI have a very short list of reliable restaurants these days, as my husband and I don’t get out much. But when we do, we want a place that’s consistently tasty with a welcoming atmosphere, plus one that provides a decent value for our money. We also love sharing, so a menu with a small diversity of interesting options—mains, apps, sides and salads—is always appreciated.
So, I’m delighted to say that I’m adding new Cora Pizza & Plates to my roster of go-to restaurants. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Opened just in time for spring eating, @coraseattle is the baby sister of @larkseattle. The neighborhood restaurant follows the family ethos of using seasonal and local ingredients to create approachable and delicious food, delivered in a laid-back atmosphere with friendly service. Check, check and check!
Four of us visited Cora on a Thursday around 6:00. Since they only accept reservations for six or more, we got there early. Lucky us, no lines! JM met us with a smile and seated us at a booth. Although the small room is open plan, you can still hear each other across the table. ✔️
I only captured a few of our drinks/dishes before we dug in. Between us, we shared seven courses and there was not a crumb left on the table. That said, I think the perfect combo next time will be three starters/salads/sides and two mains (pizza/pasta). Oh yes, and dessert. Light and lovely, it finished the meal on an up note.
Our evening’s picks: 📷🐓Chicken liver mousse 📷🍅Fresh mozzarella 📷🍐Pear salad 📷🍕Funghi pizza 🍝Rigatoni 🥬Cavalo nero 🍋Lemon budino
Two of us tried the house special pre-batched cocktails: 🥃 Negronis and Manhattans; the others, red wine 🍷. All 👍👍. On top of the memorable food, altogether dining at Cora felt like a pre-pandemic experience: easy, affable and affordable—just like old times at a new...
Read moreMe & my boyfriend came down to Seattle for vacation & during our trip we decided to stop at this cozy little place for a bite. The atmosphere walking in was a calm tuned down vibe just what we looked forward to after seeing this place online. We walked in and no one attended us up until we almost made our way down to the kitchen area up until an older lady woman stared blankly at us then proceeded to ask where do we want to sit. Let’s keep in mind this is our first time visiting this place & city. As being the only Hispanic couple in that place the waitress & I believe her boss or the owner just had eyes locked on us the entire time. We ordered our food and noticed a group walk in and receive a warm greeting & was seated generously. They arrived about 10-15 mins after we did and yet we were served our lunch after them. Considering it was just two of us for one pizza and pasta aside from them being a group of 4. There are only a small selection of options on the menu so I’m confused on how we were first after. Anyway the pizza was good although the rigatoni pasta noodles were very undercooked. I couldn’t even eat in peace without the older woman just starring directly at our table making it fairly uncomfortable to enjoy. She then leans over to the waitress and of course they come to us and ask if we’re ok and need the check making our stay feel expedited. I ask for the check & the waitress proceeds to come and charge us and say “ you don’t need to tip 20 % gratuity is already included. As if tip was deserved. Overall food was not enjoyable or worth the money &...
