It's unfortunate to post this because we thought the food was great. We were getting togo at ~9:30 pm sunday march 8th 2020 night because we were told we couldn't stay long, which was understandable. The front counter lady said we could eat from our boxes in the store. My friend ordered first and got a sandwich, mimosa, and a chicken soup and left to go sit down. When the chef told her they were out of chicken soup, she blantantly lied and said my friend ordered lentil soup. I proceeded to order the chicken, goat cheese, and apple salad. We waited for our food and obviously my friend got the wrong soup. But i also got the wrong order, i got some sort of sandwich. Needless to say i had to wait longer for my order. We were just confused because the restaurant was not busy; we were just wondering where the miscommunication came from.

The worst part is that when we went to sit down after waiting for my order to be fixed, to eat as were allowed to, we were mocked by the employees sitting near by. He asked us if he knew they were closed, then proceeded to complain to his coworker about us about being tired and wanting to going home, then he proceeded to ask his coworker to get him some water because he "wanted to sit down and start eating" as if he were a customer in an attempt to offend us and started laughing. Mind you this place has self service water. I felt bad and closed my togo order to wait for my friend to finish.

I just don't think it's acceptable to bully customers into leaving when you already messed up our orders. Hey but the...

*BEWARE This place has false advertising of prices. I was overcharged about 16-30 cents on each item I bought which added up to around $2-$3 dollars total. At first, I only noticed I was overcharged 16 cents on my coffee from the price listed on the menu above the cash register. When I asked the employee, she thought that the menu did not reflect the actual price of the coffee, which had increased. She was very polite and apologized. Later, she told me she talked to the owner and the price increase was due to me paying with credit, which I informed her I paid with debit. After continued questioning by my mom and I because we did not understand why even if it was due to the way I paid it was only showing on the coffee, we found out the menu had not been updated to reflect the increased inflation prices and that I had been overcharged on every item. I left my number and asked that the owner call to discuss this with me, but the owner has not called me still about 4 days later. I am concerned for all customers being overcharged here. We should be able to trust the prices listed on the menu and not later find out those are lower than what the business actually charges.

I will be filing a complaint with the Washington AG for deceptive business practices and will not...

Reaaaallly loved this place. Great food with great prices. I got the honey ham baguette sandwich and it was perfect. Really a delicious blend of the ingredients. The bread was warm and delicious. The apricot spread on the sandwich was delightful. I was kind of caught off guard by how great this sandwich was.

My boyfriend ordered the bacon scramble but asked for cheddar cheese instead of the regular and really enjoyed his meal. The potatoes that came with it also particularly impressed. He said the toast wasn't that great but everything else he really enjoyed.

We also split a piece of their Nutella cheesecake which was delicious. It was very rich and chocolatey so prepare to be maybe a little overwhelmed by the depth of the chocolate :P

The one true negative was the coffee. Apparently the amaretto didn't live up to my boyfriend's sweet tooth standards so depending on what you like it may be perfect for you if you don't need your coffee to be sweet. The coffee looked really cute.

Staff were great and their bathroom was clean. Ambiance was great. Loved their aesthetic.

I already want to go...

I'm just adding to the good reviews. I visited on a quiet Tuesday morning. The clean and tidy place has a bunch of tables with nice ambiance. I've heard it's a family operation and the lady taking my order was kind and happy to give recommendations. I ended up ordering the baguette breakfast sandwich with brie and apricot jam as well as the ground beef byrek with onions and tomatoes. The baguette was not like what I've had before in a good way. It was more rustic with flour dusted on the outside and a soft interior. There was a nice burnt crispy layer that was a little bitter and counterbalanced the sweetness of the jam and creaminess of the brie. The byrek was very tasty as well. I'd never had one before but the beef filling was nicely seasoned and the dough surrounding the filling was flaky and rich. I have added Byrek & Baguette as a go-to breakfast place.

I thought the 4.8 rating was questionable as who could have such a high score? Turns out it IS that good. I got the veggie roast baguette and beef byrek, the veggies were roasted perfectly and had a delicious sauce, very savory but not heavy, a wonderful breakfast. The beef byrek had an excellent seasoning that leaves a subtle lingering flavor, making you want to eat more. My friend got the Mediterranean salad baguette and three cheese byrek, the salad was refreshing and delicious, the three cheese had a lot of flavor, that again isn't too heavy. Top it off with the homemade looking tiramisu that packs so much flavor in a good balance, overall a 5 star meal. I also got the amaretto coffee and while good is very light on the amaretto, could probably use a little more. Overall I would definitely come back next time I visit Seattle.
