This was my first, and most likely last visit. I ordered the savory Belgian waffle made with cheese and green onion, and a half pound of chicken wings with garlic ginger dipping sauce. The waffle looked appetizing, but didn't taste like anything. This meal was a treat from my son, for my birthday, and my expectations were high, because he raved about this place. My waffle was so dense, it made my mouth dry while trying to chew it, and it was hard to swallow. I drank a whole cup of water, to force down 1/4 of the waffle, and told my son I couldn't eat it. I knew it was gonna be bad, when the ton of syrup I poured on it, didn't soak into it. The chicken wings were cooked well, but arrived slathered in the dipping sauce. I thought shopping sauce was supposed to be on the side. It didn't taste like garlic or ginger, but more like red pepper flakes. Too spicy for me, and it made my crispy wings soggy. I wanted to try 2 flavors, but the girl who rang up the order insisted I was allowed only one. I told her my meal wasn't right. She shrugged her shoulders and went back to eating her meal. I asked for the owner/manager, who was more than willing to please. He offered to make more chicken with the Teriyaki sauce on the side, but I didn't want to wait. I asked him to give me Teriyaki sauce to use on the spicy wings I already had. Why couldn't they just charge extra for more dipping sauce, like a Chinese take out place would, and give me the option to put as much as I wanted on my food? My food wasn't enjoyable, and the girl's unwillingness to make it right, added to an already miserable experience. I'm sorry my son paid for that meal. He gave me a to go container, but the 3/4 of my waffle went into the garbage when I got home. My son told me I was the only person he knew who didn't like their food. I'm a native NYer, and I know what good food is. I loved Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles in LA way better. The three stars is because my waffle was inedible, the restaurant had no heat on (it was 39° outside), and the girl gave me poor...
Read moreCame down from Bothell to see a friend who has flown in We were just driving around and stopped to look up restaurants. Saw this one in our search Drove straight there. We got there and was greeted by an adorable kid. The menu is delicious. Not what you expect, but it definitely fits the vibe. We ordered the chicken and waffle sliders, mac and cheese, wings, and the Angus sliders. We ordered to go thinking we were just stopping by. While we waited, we were given water cups without even asking and was made sure everything was good before even getting to the drink machine. We sat down. The vibe is great. Definitely a small hidden gem type shop. The music is good and people were friendly. We got our food. Everything we has was absolutely delicious. I've traveled across the country but they probably have some of the best waffles I've ever had. The fries were good. Just the right amount of salt and spice. For the cut of the fries, they were not soggy. They were perfectly crispy on the outside and cooked in the inside.
My favorite is the mac and cheese. It was a hard choice but the mac and cheese tastes like someone somewhere came out woodwork from a cloud of angels and blessed them with that recipe. I'm still not over it to be honest.
I would easily drive again just to eat this food. I wouldn't even need to be in the area. It's so good you drive at any time to eat it. No excuses. Just a commitment to...
Read moreI believe in supporting and giving Black owned businesses a chance to since we are so far and few to kill the stigma that comes from being black owned. Unfortunately , Drae’s did not. The moment I walked up the the counter to order my food, the young lady (clearly a teen) jumped on the phone to take a call, didn’t acknowledge my presence, then on e off the phone, asked “what do you want” - no really those were her words. I order and she acted as though she didn’t hear me and with a very sarcastic attitude said “what” as though I just bothered her (please keep in mind this is my first time in this establishment) So I said it again but this time picked up her weekend special menu and point to what I wanted. She rang up my order, and left me wondering what to do next. Then look at me and said “oh you’re done” i walked away, she called me back to ask if it was for here or to go. My reply….”wouldn’t that have been one of the first questions you asked?”
