After 2 years, they're finally open for dine in! This is huge news. Have been waiting to try this spot but wasn't interested in the takeout experience so glad to say I had the opportunity to partake in the dine in experience. For starters, this place is on par with Dough Zone even in terms of quantity, quality, and value. With that being said, I like it more than DTF.
The staff were extremely happy, friendly, and welcoming. They're just as excited that dine in is available as the customers are.
Now I'm not sure why the noodles are getting all the love in the reviews. When I was looking, lots of reviews raved about the noodles and said the dumplings were mediocre. If anything, it's the opposite. The dumplings here were amazing, the filling is perfect, and they're even slightly sweet with their sauce. The noodles aren't bad either, but I think the spotlight deserves to be on the dumplings. I'd love if the noodles were wider (we originally thought they were based on the pictures) but they're still tasty.
The downside is that the menu is fairly small. This means there's not a variety to select from like select other dumpling spots. They've also just re-opened so this may expand in the near future. They also aren't selling their boba right now which they had in the past, but I'm not sure when they got rid of it so it may be gone for good. Lastly, there isn't any huge spice here as the chili sauce lacked spiciness, but select dishes have some heat.
Should've taken menu pictures since it is a little different than the ones on Yelp, but didn't think that far ahead.
Pork Wonton in Chili Sauce - the filling was super good but the outer skin was a bit firm. I figure it was probably an outlier and they don't intentionally have the rougher skin so hopefully next time it's better. Regardless, still amazing and delicious with a flavorful filling.
Spicy Beef Lamen in Chili Sauce - I wish the noodles were wider and beef was bigger but the flavor was good. This dish had a hint of spice to it unlike the others. The beef was shredded so harder to pick up but tender.
Signature Pan Fried Buns - super soft and fluffy baos. Overall much like a Q Bao but the bottom isn't pan fried that much. It's a little half effort of a pan fry so the entire bao is still fluffy and the crispiness is negligible. Inside was great though.
Bulgogi Dumpling - probably the perfect dumpling, soft and sweet too. The sauce really hit different. It would be enhanced with chili oil though, so order a dish with chili sauce...
Read moreCame here on a whim after shopping in the Fremont area. We were excited for a diverse menu and full alcohol options.
We came on a Thursday evening and was able to easily find parking nearby and get with no reservations. Place is vibrant with cute decor. Kick back and relax and enjoy yourself here!
We definitely ordered with our eyes: Strawberry Soju served with fancy shot glasses Sweet & Sour Cucumber: cool, crispy & refreshing but a bit too sweet for us. We should've add chili oil. Sichuan Dry-Fried String Beans : one of our favorites. Savory flavor was on point and had just the right amount of crunch. Garlic Tofu Lamen Soup : Wow the broth was light yet flavorful which was a pleasant delight. Enjoyed the tofu, mushrooms, and greens in it. The never-ending rice noodles were a little too thick for us. Next time we'll try the thinner noodles and with shrimp instead of tofu. Vegan Wonton with spicy sauce : spicy sauce definitely has a kick to it. We were not fans of the vegan wontons because of the mushier texture. Assuming its potato based. Wasn't for us so we won't be ordering again. Pork chives Shrimp Dumplings : super yummy! We made our own dipping sauce with the soy sauce, vinegar and chili oil on the table. Also pleasantly surprised there is a bit of broth in each dumpling.
With a quick review, received a lychee drink & passionfruit drink for 50 cents each. Highly recommend! This cute spot also deserves awareness! Let's get the word out. Overall, would give...
Read moreEdit: Updating my review a couple years later. The location has expanded into the neighboring space, and the location it previously was in is now froyo shop. Their soup recipe has significantly improved, and their lamen is no longer chunky and thick. Solid lamen with good bite. Flavorful broth on the soup. Prices have gone up a little bit but it makes sense, inflation and cost of goods. They removed boba off their menu, which will not be missed. Place is busy enough to have a waitlist on a Friday night, so be prepared.
In summary, worth your time to stop in and have some lamen noodle soup - there's definitely work put into it. Dumplings are not bad but not great. Skip the boba - it's... not that great.
Boba - tasted like frozen and then microwaved for quick cheap reheat before being tossed into cheap cups. Milk tea tasted grainy, boba was surprisingly not rubbery but had no taste. 2/5
Pan fried dumplings - decent. If you want a dumpling fix it's not bad if you live in the area, but I'd rather just go to ID or out to Bellevue. Price is about right for what you get. 3/5
Lamen - quality is pretty nice, makes me nostalgic for the kind my grandma used to pull. Broth was fairly mild but tasty. Beef tendons definitely needed a little more cook time but flavor was nice. 4/5
Interior - I like the aesthetics inside, the walls are a nice touch. Table arrangement is a bit crowded in some spots -...
