Well as my boyfriend and i pulled up ( in separate cars) one of the men that works there bum rushed us asking if we had a room there and when we told him no before we could say NOT YET he started to tell us we had to leave AND HE WAS VERY HOSTILE WHILE SPEAKING .. To which we very politely tried telling him how we were wanting a room there..and thankfully the other employee came along and told the other guy we were ok!.. THEN ON A DIFFERENT STAY WE RENTED A ROOM FOR ONE NIGHT AND THEN HAD DECIDED TO RENT IT FOR ANOTHER NIGHT...and before allowing us to rent again ( the same employee who was hostile and rude ) told us he had to come in and check the room before he would rent to us again AND WHEN WE EXPLAINED WE HAD TO CLEAN UP A SECOND BEFORE WE LET HIM IN HE DIDNT QUITE UNDERSTAND THAT WE HAD CLOTHES AND PERSONAL BELONGINGS THROUGHOUT THE ROOM THAT WE WOULD LIKE TO PUT AWAY FIRST.. And then once he came in to check the room he told us we needed to or had to open a window because it was "stuffy" in there!! Ive never had them check the room any time before that or after that before allowing us to rent another day.. Very weird and pushy and odd.. BESIDES HE HAS NO RIGHT TO TELL US WE HAVE TO OPEN A WINDOW almost as if "if we didnt we couldnt stay another night" JUST VERY UNUSUAL BEHAVIOR ..IF U ASK ME ... BUT THE ROOMS ARE ALRIGHT AND SEEMED TO BE CLEAN* PLUS I LIKE THE LITTLE PARTIAL BATHTUBS THEY HAVE!!* I regularly stay here.. HAVENT HAD ANY OTHER ISSUES WITH THE STAFF HERE SINCE MY LITTLE ODD ENCOUNTER. STAFF ARE POLITE AND FRIENDLY PLUS SINCE THEY KNOW ME.. THEY ALLOW ME TO CHECK OUT LATE.. AS WELL AS KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR ME...
Read moreThe Marco Polo Motel was a last minute booking option for myself and my partner as we decided to add a night to our trip. Looking at the overwhelmingly positive reviews online I was hopeful, and to be honest they did not disappoint!! The gentleman at the front desk who checked us in was helpful and polite, as was the nice lady who helped us check out (even made notes of what could be improved). The location is fantastic given the low price, and Fremont is a lovely part of Seattle that feels safe.
The room itself was small, but mostly clean. The bed was kind of uncomfortable but the sheets were spotless and the pillows were as well. Bathroom was a little more ragged, but I’ll talk more of that in the things I didn’t love. Lights were all working, and almost brand new locks that worked like a charm.
Now, there are some things that need improving: -It’s an old motel, so parts of it are pretty outdated but definitely serviceable! -Our bathroom was a miss for me, the faucet in the tub and the shower head dripped CONSTANTLY while we were there. Which did lead to mold on the shower curtain. -The bathroom sink was very loose in the wall, could use a re-caulking. -I have a dust allergy, and was pretty itchy while we stayed there. My partner didn’t notice, however so take it or leave it. -Finally, behind the fridge was quite dirty. Hadn’t been vacuumed, but that was okay with us.
Overall, an incredibly pleasant stay with kind/attentive staff members. If you need a place to crash that has a clean bed, free parking, and that’s close to everything, this is definitely a fantastic budget option that I would certainly...
Read moreI stayed here as a last minute emergency booking knowing it wasn’t the greatest... but after a very long disastrous two day car ride all me and my family were desperate to get out of the car and just relax for a bit. When we walked in, I immediately asked my fiancé to run to the store for cleaning products. I spent a good 45 min at least scrubbing down every inch of the room accessible to my daughter. I had to lysol the bed linens and still refused to even sit on the rock hard mattress without putting down a towel or blanket first. Luckily I had a few blankets in the car which we used to cover the comforters and to lay on and another on top to cover each of us. We also had to bring in pillows to replace the insanely thin ones provided. Every inch of the place was filthy. As much as I love cobwebs, dust and grease film furniture, ripped linens and burn hole covered curtains this place just wasn’t my cup of tea. Although the attempt to cover up any unwelcoming smells using dollar store cologne was slightly appreciated. And... to top off our wonderful night of watching static ridden reception on a tv with exposed wiring in plain sight, I was disturbed by housekeeping barging into our room regardless of the fact that checkout was two and a half hours later and my fiancé told the woman that we were not leaving for at least another half hour and that I was inside still to ensure she did not enter the room. (In the event my daughter and I were changing etc....) ...
