DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS SPOT! It’s a clean, simple hole in the wall with fresh, hot, flavorful food that is to DIE for! I walked by here dozens of times without trying it but one night I finally gave it a shot and my mind was blown. Their goat is spiced perfectly, piping hot, and so tender. Their real showstopper, though, is the cardamom rice. I don’t know how they make that rice but it I could. Not. Get. Enough. Also, their chai is spicy, sweet, homemade, and delicious! I don’t understand how this spot hasn’t garnered more attention or awards. It deserves 10 āļø PS: They take credit card now.

First time having Somali food! Couldn't order on Doordash or online so I called in an order for goat & rice and chai. Chai is self serve and so delicious. Goat (I think it is hilib ari) portions were very generous for the price (I think it was 17$), excellently spiced (xawaash? so aromatic, a bit acidic, fingerlickin good), and the rice was fragrant as well with little flecks of cardamom or clove I think. Even better with some lime squeezed on. Goat was not fall off bone tender, but satisfying to chew and suck on. I will definitely be back for the beef, chicken, and pasta.

Cons: dudes barely speak english, there’s no menu you kinda just order and pay whatever they ask after, too much rice compared to the meat, some of the meat was dry, and if you look white they’re 100% gonna charge you extra Pros: very authentic, the goat was spiced incredibly (you gotta be a little racist to cook this good), the tea was top tier incredible, place had a real ā€œhidden gemā€ vibe. Overall would go again but I think they charged me for two fantastic and didn’t give me them, which, fair enough I didn’t remember lol.

Went here for the first time based on some amazing reviews and the food was so great! It left my husband wondering how soon until we could convince our friends to go back with us. I will say, do not go expecting a typical White Culture dining experience - this is a neighborhood shop with regulars going in-and-out regularly. I don't know if the people who served us were employees or regulars but they were all friendly and helpful. We got the goat and the beef and they were both great... but I'll be ordering the goat next time I go!

Oh yeah - the chai is AMAZING....
