Really enjoyed the ambience and look and history of the place. Lots to see, cool photos you can take. But what really lacked was attitude of server, and the wings on the late night menu. Cheese sticks were wonderful, super delicious, giant. Tater tots were fine, definitely frozen pre-made but good little snack Drinks were okay, not great. It was actually pretty slow for a Friday night...quite empty. We came in as a group of 9, server seemed really good at first. After she came back and checked on us, when I mentioned to her how extremely salty the wings were, and I mean SALT 🧂, I love salty food, I'm legit borderline HBP because of my salt intake, and this level of salt was coated on your tongue and lingered, and all 9 of us couldn't even eat it. Anywho. The server seemed reluctant to believe us, she said it's the batter and they can't change it. Anyway, she kinda closed off on her entire demeanor after we mentioned it. She took it off the bill, but had an attitude about it. And never said have a goodnight or anything after we paid. Just dropped off out credit slips and walked away... We all work in restaurants 20+ years of experience...it was honestly disrespectful and sad to see. That really ruined it for all of us. We had a GREAT time up until that point...anywho... we visited evening July 29th 2022 if management wants to see who it was. But unfortunately we won't be coming back here again due to this.

Great bar and restaurant. I think it's the oldest bar is Seattle, or one of the oldest. It has fun western decor like dear heads and antlers. The back has arcade games (pinball) and a small stage. The service was great. Friendly staff and quick. They posted signs on empty tables to indicate whether or not they'd been wiped down yet between patrons. They had a seasonal drink menu. I tried the jack fire hot toddy which tasted like a delicious tea. It had a lemon slice garnish with anis which looked very cute. My friend tried the pumpkin stout ice cream float which was also very tasty. There was a whiskey hot chocolate that sounded interesting. We also got poutine tots which were delicious, super cheesy and very filling.

I would not recommend this place due to poor service.

However, if you're willing to deal with lackluster service, the food is actually decent.

Our server first gave us a guilty look when we asked if we could split the check with a group of 8, which really just means, "although it is my job to take orders, enter orders into machine, provide check, get payment", she'd rather inconvenience the 8 other people at the table to figure that out than herself. Fine, I get this stance of putting the burden back on the customers if there's larger groups when it's busy, but it was pretty much empty so no difference than if you just had individual 8 patrons at the bar.

Secondly, they totally forgot to put in an order (or cook just didn't make it) for one person in our group. So after everyone else had their food, the server apologized for the miss and stated "it'll be out soon" while they went about rushing to make the missed dish. Of course beyond the "sorry about that" there was no consolation given while this person watched everyone else get their food and eat. Amateur hour for sure.

Third, after we got our food and drinks no one ever followed up to ask how things were and if we needed anything else. We were made to get up, grab our empty glass, and head up to the bar ourselves to get refills on water, soda, and tea.

Lastly, when we got the one combined check, there was no itemization provided at all, just the total. There was no way to cross check if we were charged correctly and the cost breakdown of the meal. Instead, we're guilt-ed into not splitting the check, then made to assume the bill total is accurate as is, and provided no way for the patrons to figure out how to divvy up the cost based on who ordered what. So the implication is "no split checks" and then we're also not going to provide an itemized receipt. The "something fishy is going on" factor was pretty high.

The service at this place is a disaster. It was basically empty (2 bar patrons and a table of 4 along with our group of 8), however the server was too busy chatting it up with a young guy at the bar she appeared smitten over than to waste any time on customer service.

The name of this place should be "Take the Money and Run" cause hey, if you can make $40 in tips for 10 minutes of actual work, ...well you can do the math and see why this behavior of poor service is...

I have been coming here for the past few months, and it's a decent place to hang out. I do like the atmosphere it holds to be the oldest bar in Seattle. I mostly come in for karaoke just to express myself through music. It was fun as always. But there were times when the mood was a little off. It starts off fun until the vibe just changes throughout halfway the night. There are lots of depressing songs when I just want to rock and roll and get everyone in the back to have a good time. No one judging you, and just having a good time is all I look forward to after having a long week of work. The food is good most of the time whenever I ordered the cheeseburger and it always came out really good. Including the wings. There were some dishes I wasn't a fan of, but the cheeseburger and the wings are the ones I definitely enjoyed the most. Plus, I'm not a big drinker. Just some good food, a Coke and a good time is all I need. The service is hit and miss. Sometimes, it seemed to be understaffed, and there is only one bartender there for the most part I've been coming here. There were times when there were a few others, but mostly, there was only one when it dies down past midnight. I also have a friend who had a job as a KJ host here who was doing a great job. He always made sure everyone was having a good time and kept the energy alive. But I'm sad to say that I won't be coming back due to how I feel about the newest KJ host who was the previous host before my friend took his spot. Overall, it's a decent place to hang out after a long...
