Cute little shop with some back in parking spots immediately before. They seem to rotate flavors, not sure if it's seasonal or monthly or whatever but that's a plus. Luckily you're not subjected to only matcha if your friends drag you here and you aren't a fan. Matcha flavor was good though, but faint when paired with vanilla in a swirl. Just what you'd expect in soft serve form, maybe a bit sweeter but then again, it's soft serve. Overall, the experience was just an average 3 maybe close to a 3.5 but not quite amazing.
Soft serve melts quickly. By the time I grabbed mine, it was already leaking onto the thin paper. I'd recommend you get your taiyaki soft serve in a box, I guess that's why it's an option. Just better overall as it's cleaner, easier to eat, and less of a hassle for the few cents. Unfortunately, you don't quite know this until it happens but maybe I had an outlier of an experience.
They include drizzles, fillings, and two toppings as part of the item. Taiyaki is fresh and I think fillings are a must as they can only enhance the taste. My personal recommendations are Adzuki (red bean) filling, condensed milk drizzle, and wafer stick + any other one topping. Every other choice is still great though, so definitely experiment if you're in the mood.
The biggest downside here is the price. Soft serve isn't cheap for sure, but the overall value could definitely be improved. I'd recommend a visit or a few, but definitely don't have too high of expectations. Service isn't anything special, they briefly interact with you to hear your order and call your name but...
Read moreThis Taiyaki ice cream place opened up less than a month ago and i wanted to try their ice cream.. stopped by to get their strawberry with red bean taiyaki and the matcha black sesame swirl with taiyaki with chocolate dripping and oreo crumbles..we loved both the flavors it was delicious I also like their taiyaki nice crispy and soft at the same time.. we also tried their ube and it was divine! I wish i could pair their ube with black sesame! One thing - the taiyaki turns soft really soon cos of the cold ice cream on top of taiyaki.. still held up pretty well but glad we did not walk out in the sun holding this it would have dripped and dropped all over..
Just fyi - they offer swirls of ube + vanilla, strawberry + pineapple, matcha + black sesame only. You cannot mix and match any other flavors cos thats how their machines are setup. In case you want to mix and match other flavors, you need to take it in a cup with the taiyaki inverted.. Also, thisnice cream place has no AC but has fans everywhere. Maybe a temporary thing (i am not sure) but thats just something I noticed Will come...
Read moreDon't come blindly trusting reviews of local instagramers. I, like many others, showed up for the seemingly trendy and deliciously framed treat. One that's served by a local crew that has been at it for years in pop-up locations but now has a fully fleged brick and mortar. But what we are served is far from delicious. The line was massive which is typically a good sign. As we got near we were told that they have plenty of taiyaki but would be out of any soft serve other than chocolate. No big deal. By asking questions we were told that any of the add in syrups (free) are just Hershey syrups and several ice creams are all generic and store bought. Which seems lazy. Our chocolate soft serve was plain and the strawberry drizzle was definitely not made in house. The taiyaki was an abomination. I ask that those trying it for the first time don't accept this version and seek out something better elsewhere. The pastry was cold as hell and crumbled like a cracker instead of being crunchy and soft at the same time. The worst part was they never added my red bean...
